How big or far away we do not know. But forget sun sized, basically, until you do know.
But we do know... 39 l.y.How big or far away we do not know. But forget sun sized, basically, until you do know.
Who cares how comfortable some are with lies and delusion?? The only thing that matters is the facts and evidence and what is actually known. You would NEED to know time exists out there exactly as here. You don't, so you LOSE.Nobody is in any doubt what stars are, or how far away they are.
The problem is you don't know what a kind is! So how could you say?
Well, what if a bat is a bird? What if it underwent some changes and adaptations? What if a fish grew legs to get around, and adapted a more suitable way to breath also, would we then say it was not a fish? What if a penguin used to fly? Why try to impose arbitrary limits when we do not know what the created kinds were? As a general rule your idea might hold water, but not as some hard and fast rule.
Could be. But that is not why I try to allow a lot of evolving! What if at some stages in history man had a tail? What if Adam used to be able to grow teeth many times when they came out? What if lions adapted or evolved a digestive system to eat meat rather than grass? Who knows?
Very true.
I know that. Yet there are many who claim to be in the faith that think that.
The word whale today denotes something other than a fish. Yes fowl were made in kinds. Now if some fowl adapted to a dino, that would not bother me. Notice it doesn't mentions dinos there.
Very true, there were created kinds. But I don't see where a kind could not evolve?
No. You do not actually. You know time exists there too? Prove it.But we do know... 39 l.y.
"Earth like" does not mean it is like our Earth whereby people can live on these planets. Therein lies the deception. Also, they have not confirmed if these planets are actually like Earth in any way. They are still making huge guesses about these planets from far away. The chances of these planets being able to support life by the reports so far seems like a .... "zero." In Genesis God created the heavens and the EARTH (singular). This means that there are no other Earths out there. Sorry to let you down there folks. God and His Word are still true.

Hey, I get it. You love science and evolution. Let that be your thing. I prefer to love God and I choose to follow what God and His Word says (And not to speculate and go outside of what it says).
But you don't know what a kind even is.That to me is more important. Do I believe in micro-changes within a kind? Yes.
No, we were created, and did not come from any animals. But are you sure monkeys were a created kind? Were bears? Bats? There is observational science to back that up. But the Bible does not teach Macro-Evolution. The Bible does not teach that we come from monkeys.
Your idea of what is a bird includes bats? Science calls those mammals, no? Whales too. So can a fish or bird change into a mammal? Or are bats not birds? Is changing to a mammal changing kinds? The Bible does not teach that fish can turn into birds, etc.
It was great but not supporting your ideas.I have provided Scripture.
Genesis was written from the perspective of those living on earth. Nothing there indicates there could not be other intelligent life created in other solar systems or galaxies.
You speculate on the created kinds. I suspect also some of the posters who have been here awhile may not agree with your idea I love evolution and science.
But you don't know what a kind even is.

I suspect folks afraid of big changes by evolution in the past are afraid because they think if they allow any significant evolving, they have to allow the evolution of man and animals from one frst lifeform. No!

David, there is no such thing as "split / merge."No. You do not actually. You know time exists there too? Prove it.
But Scripture does not say this or even hint at such a thing.
God created the sun, the moon, and the stars on Day 4 AFTER the Earth came into being. The sun, the moon, and the stars were for signs and for seasons FOR PURPOSE OF THE EARTH. This suggests that the Earth is the center stage of creation. For God is not a respecter of persons. If there were other persons in the universe, God would create all the sun, the moon, and the stars on Days 1-3 and not on Day 4 after the Earth came into being. God would also have to say that the sun, the moon, and the stars were for signs and for seasons NOT just for the Earth but for all life in the heavens. But Scripture does not say this or even hint at such a thing.

Genesis is not a science book. It teaches us that we were created by God.
What does the Bible say about the existence of other planets? Not whether they would have life or not, just whether it mentions them at all.
I don't expect someone with limited knowledge of astronomy to be able to write about something we've only become aware of during the last one hundred years.

First, no offense dear madam, but I am not sure why you care what the Bible says if you are not a Christian or if you do not believe it to be the actual Word God (Seeing your profile post lists that you are a Humanist).
Second, the wording of the language in the Bible strongly suggests many times that the Earth is the center stage of creation and God's plan of salvation for only those on the Earth (See this Christian article here and this one here). Three, alien and ghost encounters are tied in being very similar to encounters with demons. At times, some have experienced the smell of brimstone and they all can be cast out in the name of Jesus Christ. Also, the word "owls" has been referred to as demons in the Bible. The black sliver like almond eyes of owls is like that of the popular grey aliens. I knew about this from a Pastor before I seen the trailer for the film called, "The Fourth Kind" (Which is really disturbing).

Curiosity, given the position you've taken on the subject and the fact that you just repeatedly quoted about the sun, moon and stars, but no mention of planets.
This doesn't really address the question I asked.
