When Jesus rose from the dead, He brought many back to life with Him. Ephesians 4. The resurrection from the death of holiness carries a different glory than the resurrection from the death of sin.
Every time you overcome a challenge in Jesus' name, you go through it on behalf of others and bring some back to life with you. Conversely, when you sin and fall, you lead others toward darkness and the grave.
It pains me to see those who choose rebellion and death because I desire to bring life, not death. When godly people die, I find comfort in knowing they are alive and will rise again with me. God will not allow His Holy One to rot.
Choose life so that we may receive His glory and light. If we choose death and evil, more darkness will follow. Ultimately, God reserves all authority over life and death. He initiates life and brings it to an end.
It was the Spirit of Christ who preached through Noah to the souls to repent and turn away from their sins. After Jesus died and was made alive, Jesus went and proclaimed to the imprisoned spirits. 1 Peter 3.
Hades is a place where all the dead awaited judgment. The Lake of Fire is where the wicked went after judgment. Jude 1:23. For those who place their trust and faith in Jesus, He not only forgives their sin but also frees them from the power of sin and death.
The voice of the innocent cries out to God from the Land. Revelation 6:10 describes the souls of martyrs crying out to God, asking how long it will be before he judges and avenges their blood on those who dwell on the earth.
“Truly, I tell you, some who are standing here will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming into his kingdom.” Matthew 16:28
