  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

My title is not speaking of a wristwatch, but of a guard, a defense. Whether we are talking verbally to someone, or using a keyboard, I know that I should keep in mind to be careful what I say. Words can not only help or hurt someone, they can get us in trouble. So one of my favorite verses is Psalm 141:3. "Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips." This is a request to the Lord to help one be careful with what they say. May we guard what we say, and don't say. May we strive not to say the wrong thing, and at times keep ourselves from saying anything, while still being helpful to say the right things.

Life and death is in the power of the tongue.....We will be held accountable for every idle word. The judgments we plan on others will come back around to us. So I make note of every person I send to hell.....because they will be my eternal companions.
I want to say "Funny"...but people going to hell is not funny.

Nothing funny about it....Which is why Im careful not to send anyone there... The judgement of the created in best left in the hands of the creator.
I don't send anyone there as well. The Creator has already set the perimeters of who goes to hell. He doesn't put people in those perimeters. Adam placed us in the perimeter of being born a sinner, condemned to hell. God has provided the way to be forgiven through faith in Jesus Christ, allowing us to escape from the perimeters of being sent to Hell. Man makes his own choice whether to be saved or not, so sends himself to Hell, if that is where he is going to go, not God. God gets all the glory for all that go to Heaven. One should not get glory for doing what is expected (Wisely accepting God's work and offer of salvation, and not foolishly rejecting it.), and man is to blame himself if he goes to Hell.
