Seriously thinking about leaving this forum...

Lately, I have seen it all... the worst sort of Christianity ever. The "post-modern" christianity... and Gosh! It is so wrong! What is going on with God's holy people today? Are they becoming like the Israelites once were? Is it becoming like that instance in Romans 9...

"It is not as though God's word had failed. For not all who are descended from Israel are Israel." Romans 9:6

Are we turning into that? That not all who are believers in Christ are actually children of God? Like... gah...

I am really thinking about leaving this forum cuz I have seen too much scripture mingling with societal philosophies. Post-modern christianity? What!?! This has greatly grieved me... there are too many liberals on this website... What should i do? Should I do as Paul would instruct me, and just leave? They are teaching a false gospel, which is not a gospel at all! It's from the devil, this post-modern christianity stupidity! What should i do? I really don't want to leave, but this liberalism is really grieving me... and just pushing me to leave the website... christians are leading other christians astray!

Father, please lead believers into Your real direction. The Truth that you called us to. Father, Your word is totally true, and there is but one meaning to it. Lord, that's the way it is. You never intended there to be false interpretations, but that happened... our brothers and sisters in Christ are being led astray by false gospels taht Satan himself is promoting through their faith in You... They forge you into an image that they desire to be god... but that image is false! Father, You are an awesome God of love, but You are also a God of justice and wrath! Lord, reveal to me what it is You want me to do. I don't know how much more I can take... seeing Your people being led astray by so many false gospels on this website. Father, post-modern christianity is not a reality, but a distortion of Satan himself. God, keep us in Your love, that we may preach a real gospel, The real Gospel of Jesus Christ, the one who saves all of His people, who died for His sheep. Died for His people. May they be taught the reality of it all. There is no other God than You, the real God from true biblical interpretation. Father, there is none like You. These gods that others invent to be a distortion of who You really are, Father, smite them down. We are becoming as the ancient Israelites who made the idol of the golden cow in the desert. Father, this is happening today, and they don't even know it! Oh Father, have mercy on us should we ever distort Your reality, and who You really are. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Why can't reformed people get relief from those who are not reformed? Do those people have a right to crash our fellowship party?

Well, like... the thing is that people don't like reformed theology cuz it isn't really the most comforting thought (yet the most biblical bahahaha)... I dunno. I get persecuted for saying something like "God chose you for His glory" and waht not... I'm afraid to go out there anymore... not in the sense that I don't want to be persecuted, but in the sense that people hate God... His followers hate Him, and they don't even know it. It grieves me greatly, and I will probably get all depressed about this... and become a lot like Jeremiah... as I noticed him and i have a lot in common (the weeping prophet)... I don't like to see God's people (apparently) distorting the truth about who God really is, Him being TOTALLY sovereign. I can't stand to watch it anymore... it just makes me want to fall on my knees and cry out to God for these people, for they are like lost sheep... they are just like the israelites forging God into something He is not!...

One thing that GA taught me was to be in God's word. I need it more than food for my body. You are right, there are lots of bizzarre ideas that are coming from the body of Christ and it is shocking!

I come here often for rest and respite. Sometimes the other places on this site seem like bizarro world, some alternate universe, definitely a different gospel!

After being rested, it's back into the fray! Just gotta keep on keepin' on! Keep on preachin' cause you don't know who's listenin'.

I can't tell you what to do and it is good to talk with those of like mind. I am glad that there is Semper Reformanda - Reformed Forum.

This is the world that God created for it must have seemed good in His sight to have such a world for His Glory. It makes the end that much better. This is all for your good, for we know that all things work out for good to those that love God, to those that are called according to His purpose.

I haven't read all the posts, but after reading the op it reminded me of an illustration our minister once gave. It was about going to church, but I think it can be applied here.

Christianity is a bit like fishing. You go out during the week and fish, and then on the weekend you come back in, repair your nets, and share stories with your fellow fishermen. Then you start again the next week. You can't just stay in shore, or you achieve nothing. Nor can you stay out too long, or you're in danger of sinking your boat!

Sounds to me like you need to come back and repair your nets, before going out again and facing what's out there. Remember there are people on CF who are genuinely searching for good theology, and answers to their questions. Sure you have to wade through some pretty bad stuff too, but don't give up. Otherwise they may never hear it. You get to access people who you might never come across otherwise - and they may never have come across any good theology in their life. Give them a shot.

But for now - repair your nets, share some stories, and rest. There is still work to be done.

Good comment, randy. More and more I am coming to believe that the verse "No man can say that Jesus Christ is Lord but by the Holy spirit" means that if a person's heart rejects the presentation of God's absolute sovereignty it is because they are unregenerate. Regeneration is necessary before a person can find God's absolute sovereignty agreeable.

By that I do not mean the person will always be aware of the Bible's testimony of God's sovereignty, but that when it is presented to the regenerate but unschooled, they will find the doctrine precious to their heart.

I had the nerve to suggest that it was possible, even likely, that things like tsunamis and hurricanes happen so that God would be glorified (gasp).

It's funny - to me reformational theology is comforting - because we can rest in God. I know who's in charge and don't have to worry about earning His favor.

seekingpurity047, I truly understand your situation - I was part of another "Christian" forum for a few months before I finally totally quit and came here two days ago (weird timing, huh?). The reason I left was that 80% of the people there (rough estimate) believe in this new "Open Theism" junk being thrown around. I was blistered for my reformed beliefs and with so few reformed believers on the site, it wore me out. I would actually go to bed feeling completely dejected and overwhelmed.

Then, I came here - and while Open Theism isn't recognized as popular doctrine on CF- from what I've read there are still quite a few semi-Christian views being discussed. However, finding this reformed forum is like a breath of fresh air. I know I haven't been here for very long, but already I feel more uplifted that I can discuss and be encouraged by fellow Reformed Christians who believe in the sovereignty of God . I hope you stick around, maybe take a few days off here and there - just to stay fresh. I know that helped me some on the other forum. As others said, use this reserved area for Reformed Christians as a refuge. I know I plan to.
