In this thread: we have serious discussions about the proposed policies of each of the candidates.

A candidate's health is not their policy.
A candidate's character is not their policy.
A candidate stiffing their staff is not their policy.

This is about policy. What the candidates propose, what their plans are to achieve their goals, and how realistic they are.

To start us off, @rjs330, you seemed to have some serious problems with the policies proposed by Clinton. The floor is yours; be my guest. Or, indeed, anyone else who would like to pick a particular policy to comment on.

I would argue that the candidate's character will largely shape his or her policy.
Which is nice, but given the constant insinuations and how half the country cannot agree on the character of either candidate, I'd like to reduce it to what they actually claim they want to achieve. Let's just get a little reductive here: what are their plans, how do they plan to enact them?

Although it is quite telling that a thread trying to discuss probably the most important factor of each candidate gets less posts than a thread wherein the OP confuses a reflection of light for an earpiece and runs with it for three pages.

One candidate has yet to set out a coherent policy plan. The other seems to be a continuation of the current policies. Personally, I am not terribly enamored of either candidate, however a continuation of current policy seems a lot better than the bloviating sound bites of the other.

The current election is feeling horribly reminiscent of the UKs EU referendum campaign. With Clinton being the remain side, complacent, nothing new, same old same old. Versus a side making a whole bunch of sound bite populist promises on keeping immigrants out, sovereignty etc. And like the remain side Clintons whole campaign seems to be demonising Trump, but failing to offer anything to counter the anti-establishment mood.

There is a reason TrumP invited Farage to speak.

There you go, finally, you embrace the power of lying.
