  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Can a christian be seperated from the love of God? please answer and give the scripture to back it up. :preach:

Very clearly the answer is no. Romans 8:31-39 ends with that very thought -- "For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principlalities, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be ale to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." It would be very hard to step over that and come to any other conclusion. The fact remains -- NOTHING can separate us from the love of God? And I know how the arguement goes -- "But that passage doesn't say anything about me walking away from the love of God!" But if that were true then either the Apostle Paul failed to be obedient to God and submit that as a possibility or God is deceiving us. Neither is correct. Paul was convinced of the believers security. Sadly, many have tried and tried to disprove the security of the believer with all the warning passages from Hebrews and the blotting of the name out of the book of life text to make the Scriptures teach something far different than the truth. What God starts -- God finishes! Check out Phil. 1:6.

Nothing can seperate us from the love of god except our own short comings. Light and darkness can not dwell in the same place much like salt water and fresh water can not flow from the same river. if you begin to live in sin, your life reflects darkness and god will not be around much for that...which is why there is repentence.

if it were a 100% sure shot to get saved and call it a day, it would not be common to repent daily, stay in prayer regularly and reading your bible in order to stay close with the lord. what would the point be if we could just ignore it and still make it?

No, one cannot be seperated from the love of God. We walk in the Creation that was borne of it.

Psalm 139

O lord, thou hast searched me, and known me.

Thou knowest my downsitting and mine uprising, thou understandest my thought afar off.

Thou compassest my path and my lying down, and art acquainted with all my ways.

For there is not a word in my tongue, but, lo, O LORD, thou knowest it altogether.

Thou hast beset me behind and before, and laid thine hand upon me.

Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain unto it.

Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?

If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.

If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;

Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.

If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.

Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.

For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb.

I will praise thee; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvellous are thy works; and that my soul knoweth right well.

My substance was not hid from thee, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth.

Thine eyes did see my substance, yet being unperfect; and in thy book all my members were written, which in continuance were fashioned, when as yet there was none of them.

How precious also are thy thoughts unto me, O God! how great is the sum of them!

If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand: when I awake, I am still with thee.

Surely thou wilt slay the wicked, O God: depart from me therefore, ye bloody men.

For they speak against thee wickedly, and thine enemies take thy name in vain.

Do not I hate them, O LORD, that hate thee? and am not I grieved with those that rise up against thee?

I hate them with perfect hatred: I count them mine enemies.

Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me, and know my thoughts:

And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Romans 8:31-39 shows you can't. But, that doesn't mean that you will stay saved forever and can't lose salvation, doesn't mean that no consequences for actions will come, that God will never be displeased, or that you can never be distanced from Him.
