• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Maybe you might ask God to intervene for you. From my own experience fear and superstition have a role to play in this oppression as well, as they are debilitating also.
Sometimes its worth the effort to read up and try to understand about this. I think sometimes God allows it for our own good to teach us things.

If all else fails prayer and fasting.

I wonder whether anyone but <.00001% of the population can do it? It must be very difficult.

Oppression not possession right? The two are different. I've been oppressed and have known plenty of people that are/were oppressed...for me it was accomplished through prayer and standing on the word of God..

Sister, if we don't stand on the cross, we might just find ourselves hoisted up on it. Our Lord and Savior YHVH bless you.

But exorcism is usually used in cases of possession right?

Yes! In that case, I would say you cannot deliver yourself. I believe that Christians can be oppressed but not possessed... I know many are likely to disagree with me on that..

When did it all go wrong? And when will it change?

A demon cannot enter through a doorway without being invited.

There are stories in folklore of the simplistic "opening the door will let them in" idea. Such as if a demonic force is outside your house, and you open the door, then it can come inside. But if you do not welcome it, then how shall it enter? And Jesus is The Strong man, and who can destroy The Strong man? Possession means to have a spirit dwelling within, oppression means to be laden by grief. Through this context we can see that being oppressed means it is an OUTSIDE source, and that Possession means it is an INSIDE source. If you are truly saved, you might doubt God, and your beliefs might change temporarily, but you will always come back to Jesus. If you are not, you definitely leave room to invite a demon into you.

Look up Anneliese Michel.
