Selecting Pastors

Hi,

Can any Pastors please describe to me your church's procedure for appointing Pastors ? Can you also please tell me how you knew that you were destined to become a Pastor ?

I’m not sure how churches appoint Pastors. I am sure that most have a Pastoral search committee. As far as “destined” to become a Pastor you have several different opinions. Many believe they are “called” to be a Pastor. In all honesty we are all called to be pastors, but not everyone can be a Pastor. I believe in the spiritual gift of Pastor-Teacher. I do not believe that people are “called” to be Pastors, but are given 1 of 10 spiritual gifts. One of these gifts is Pastor-Teacher (Eph. 4:11). I hope I was of some help to you.
