I know exactly what you mean, Raphael. One one hand, big business wants to take Christmas and make "Consume-mas" and drive folks into debt; and on the other hand, small minority groups that scream "tolerance" when it suits their needs want to strip God from every aspect of American culture because they're "offended". It really makes me sick sometimes.

Isn't it amazing that something so innocent draws so much ire, even from some in christian ciricles . . .
We can see what is really important by that which the enemy of our souls chooses to attack . .
Coming from a Protestant perspective of 30 years, the argument that Christmas is really of pagan origin is not a new one . . . . I found myself wondering at times. But now, after spending a little time researching this, I see how absolutely important a celebration it is.
Being attacked from so many quarters as it is today, it is a very important celebration for us today.
The issue in NYC would be laughable if it were not so sad . . . the view expressed is so old and antiquated, I can hardly believe that any thinking person would even attempt to assert that Christ's birth is not a historical event.

Call the ACLU. Their supporters always tell me that they stand for the rights of all Americans. If that's true, they should be all over this.

The ACLU is behind all this Christian bashing. The judge who tried to prevent the 10 commandments from being removed in Alabama was just fired from his job.
With President Bush being prevented from appointing judges on the courts, our courts are becoming very liberal and are reinterpreting the U.S. Constitutions. Not only that, the liberals want the U.S. Courts to be subservient to the United Nations, where we will have no religious liberties whatsoever.

It is are rights as Christians that are being censored.The majority in this country are supposed to rule,not special interest groups(ACLU),or small fringe minorities(Gay and Lesbians).Who is speaking for us??We have an obligation to resist evil,in whatever form it takes.How dare these monsters, that would take away the most amazing story ever told. Hiding behind some governmental pretense to do it.Soon it will be a hate crime to speak out agianst gay lifestyles,what is next?Sueing Christians for wearing crucifixes,because it offends someones sensibilities?I hope not on my watch!jeffthefinn said:

Yeah, my tongue was definitely in cheek, hence the "holding my breath waiting for their support" comment. I really am going to write them about it though. That way, on the off chance that they actually respond to me, I can save the rejection letter as proof that they have no interest at all in the liberties of the average American.

Actually if you ask me, the Christmas that the world knows has little to do with the events that we remember. Buying frenzies has little to do with the Birth of Our Lord. My rights have not been violated as yet, and so what if they are? I do not take comfort in the fact that the State affirms or denies what I know is true. My life as a Christian is to aquire the Holy Spirit by prayer, fasting, and giving alms. That I can do, even if the government outlaws it.djns9437 said:
