  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Hello brethren.

To be upfront: I am an Arminian. I am writing up an exposition of Romans 9, dealing with the election of Jacob over Esau, and on the hardening of Pharaoh's heart. I am looking for input on the article from Calvinistic brethren.

At this point, I have finished discussion of election of Jacob over Esau. I am looking for some feedback before plunging into Pharaoh's heart.

Basically, I would like to know if you think I have misinterpreted scripture, and to be made aware of points I may have missed, or points I did not explain particularly well.

I hoping that iron can sharpen iron, so that we both learn more about the things of God in our discussion.

Just to let it all hang out: I am spirit-filled, and believe that the gifts of the Spirit are still for the church today. But that is not what I want to talk about: I want some help in testing my understanding of Romans 9.

The articles on Romans 9 can be found at loavesofbarleybread.com

Thanks, and God bless.
