Hi there,

So, something you need to learn as a mature believer (and I am not speaking at length, here on maturity, I assure you), is to seek out the message that saved you. In other words, not to have itching ears, as to doctrine, pursuing one manner of faith one minute, but then another manner of faith in the next. Rather you should have the One mind of faith, even as God sent One to you, to impart the message of faith to you.

Identify, this One, in whom you believed, what did he say? What was his message? Where else can you find that message, if not that One?? The point is very simple, the One that came to you had a particular kind of message: it may be a Peter message or a John message or any one of the twelve disciples' kind of message. This One that you trusted, had One sent to them, who also had a particular kind of message. If you put faith in them, they will put faith in you - give and it shall given to you, to him that listens more, more will be added (paraphrase). If you put faith in their message, they will put faith in yours.

This is about uniting the Church around what we were told, not what we dreamt up when we were trying to contend with our brothers and sisters who was greatest in the family of God (if the disciples argued amongst themselves over this, surely you will have to!). God gives a specific message, to those whom he sends; God does not want the message He sent to lack anything (see I am learning here now to!), but what God gave, God gave in fullness - the message you have from the One who was sent, was for life - this life and the life to come!
(I am speaking for all your messages here, but not without it being in the vein that was taught to me).

There is mercy in this, that you not burden a messenger with gossip and talk and airy philosophy, but instead cleave to the teaching you have been shown, teaching which makes us fit for every good work (2 Timothy 2:21). Instead we become something a little sweet in principle, a savour of the good things of the Lord unto God. As the Bible has said, if we do this
(vesting our interest in the Word of God, which Jesus was, as was sent to us) rivers of living water will flow out of our heart (John 7:38), but not only that out of the heart of the One that was sent to us - that both they and us may share the message, be it at God's hand in them or in someone else (for we do not always have control of our circumstances, this side of Heaven).

It is to be rejoicing, for us and for you, this side of eternity!
