I'm into television and motion picture soundtracks (always with discretion) yet I especially enjoy symphonic orchestra's involved, namely "Battle Los Angeles", "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan", the James Bond movies, and even "The Good, The Bad & The Ugly".

O
n this one, I came across this same music performed by The Danish National Symphony Orchestra on You Tube. It was so well done,note-for-note, melody for melody, an exact duplicate of the 1966 original soundtrack composed by Ennio Morricone.

There's several other's too many to list here.

When I said I don't listen to Christian music anymore, I meant it. But I do
listen to the early releases by Amy Grant, and others I first listened to when
I got saved.

I don't permit any of my favorite music to be a distraction. I know my limits.
But too many Christian's seem to be so obsessed with trying to set me
straight on the straight and narrow, and there it was! Narrow. I can see why
so-many unsaved people are turned off by well-meaning, sincere, yet legalistic
Christian's who think they'll lose brownie points with God if they don't turn in
their monthly spiritual quotas. I know from what I speak, because my unsaved
colleagues and other unsaved counterparts have told me that.

What is my liberty should not be judged by other believers, unless it's an overt
sin condemned by the Lord! I've read and studied Romans 14. I can be careful
so as to not offend or mislead another believer.

I apply the Philippian Prescription:

Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things. -- Philippians 4:8

By emphasizing "whatsoever," Paul moves beyond scripture to all other creative work and actions that are uplifting to the spirit, inspired by good things that God has created. And music is such a thing, because music is created by God, discovered by man.

If it meets any of the requirements of the Philippian Prescription, it's fine for Christians.

Check wisdom , there is nothing wrong with secular music as long as it does not worship or praise false gods, and that you do not replace worshiping God with music of preferences -
there are some really good Christian music artists in contemporary Christian music today you should enjoy praising the LORD - yea there are the Legalistic Christians - just ignore them and don't let them steal your joy

I'm not referring to death metal, C&W, or pop culture (i.e. Katy Perry etc).

I think secular music is okay as long as it doesn't lead people astray. I hope so, since another musician and I are planning to perform "I Wanna Be Free" (Monkees) and "Walk Right In" (Rooftop Singers), along with a couple of Christian songs we wrote, next Tuesday evening.

I was in a bit of a hurry yesterday to get to work, and didn't have a chance to mention
another fine (in my opinion) Christian female vocalist, Sheila Walsh, and like Amy Grant,
I'm stuck with her music from the 1980's, but not much after that.

She was also a co-host for Pat Robertson's 700-Club, 1987-1992.

Sheila is a Scottish-born native, and of course, U.S. citizen. I have just about
every one of her 80's releases, but my favorite is "Shadowlands", released
in 1986. It stuck with me ever since.
