The whole Satanic music thing just seems like an attempt to be edgy for the sake of being edgy. It's like a kid cursing just to shock their parents.
I do think some take the ideology seriously.

The worst thing about popular Christian music is that they convinced people that it's Christian music.

Listen to whatever you like, but I'm choosing Queen over Toby Mac kind of garbage 100 times out of 100. Christian music is terrible. Sappy, whiny, repetitive garbage.

Most music that is played by the masses.
Citation still needed.

I can't think of a single time that any music ever has brought an immoral thought to mind. (Think about immoral things, maybe, but to think those thought? Never.)

That's a good point, and I'll revise my statement. Listening to evil music reinforces, or enhances, bad thoughts and activities, although it can generate bad thoughts as well. Also I need to amend what I mean by "most". Most of the music being listened to is evil. One scuzzy rap song can be played thousands of times while one uplifting composition is rarely heard. So the sheer volume of evil music completely overwhelms the airways regardless of an equal number of 'good' compositions.

And what's unChristian about it, precisely?

... that's why I like unpopular Christian music! However, I can say that while I'm not a TobyMac fan, I do think his latest album isn't half bad ...

Most music/lyrics is of the devil/Lucifer, and conjures immoral thoughts.

I know I for one, can't help but think of all kinds of debaucherous things when I listen to Mozart or Chopin. And who can forget the satanic lyrics of Albert Campbell?

They are exempted from the "most".

They are exempted from the "most".

I suspect that eventually, looking at the long history of music in human civilization around the planet we'll find that "most" gets reduced to "almost none"; and as such the statement was a rather careless generalization.

The even deeper problem here is attempting to avoid personal responsibility for our own thoughts. I am morally culpable for my own thoughts, and trying to shoehorn blame over to music (or video games, or movies, or comics, or books, or [etc]) is morally lazy.

Actually my statement was a careful generalization (I did put a lot of thought into it). Listening is only half of the problem. Playing music is largely a self-gratifying waste of time (been there, done that).

I agree with you 100%. Music is art and I think God gave people these talents to worship Him and uplift us.
