  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I was just thinking about the season fianale of season 3 and im trying to think ahead of what will be happening in the 4th Season because if they are off the island then isnt that the end of lost, i dont know how the directors can drag it out for another 3 seasons them being "off" the island I was just wondering what your thoughts of what may happen in the future.... and Charlie being dead  and how claire will react to that:cry: , also how Walt came back does that mean that him and micheal never left the island. :p

Scenes of characters who are off the island are flash-forwards. The present island-narrative continues as before, at the rate of about one month per season.

Looking ahead, I'm totally convinced that Ben was telling the truth about the people who communicated with Jack at the end of season three. I think they want the island and they're willing to wipe out the islanders to take it.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised at all if they continue the final three seasons with flash-forwards. The majority of the episode time would continue to be on the island, and instead of flashing back they'll flash forward.

I don't think they'll end up getting off the island, but I think the Lostaways and the Others might very well join forces against the submariners when they invade.

And Walt has appeared in psychic/spirit form a number of times already. I think the Others probably steered them in the wrong direction when they sent them off in the boat, and are holding them somewhere on another little island like Alcatraz. Walt appearing to Locke was not physical, though, that I could tell.

Maybe-futures was my initial thought, but not many people agreed with me :p

That's what I hope.. maybe Dez will get flashes and try to persuade Jack to stay on the island. But, I'm sad to say, maybe Jack's future is like Charlie's. "No mattah what I doo, Jack, you're gonna leave and be miserable, bruthah."

I got the imperssion that Jack was so miserable because not many people make it, i.e. survivors guilt.

I sort of disagree. Going back wouldn't change what has happened to others. Jack pines for the island like an addict. He said he didn't care about other people on the plane (he wants to crash). That's like an addict who will do anything to get his substance.

And I sort of agree. When Jack saw the obituary, that was the proverbial straw. He went straight to the bridge.

No, I meant I don't think they are going to get off the island in Season 4, when the story resumes from the Season 3 finale. They will eventually get off the island, they'd have to in order to continue with the flash-forward format.

How do you do them quote things cause i just copied and pasted there *blushes*

There's a Post Quotes button at the bottom of each post that you can use, or if you're quoting multiple posts like I did here, you can use the Multi Quote button, also at the bottom of every post.

Hmmm...

In the series, it is late 2004.

The `flash forward' seems to have been set late 2006 or maybe 2007.

That `lost experience' thing seems to have taken place in mid 2006,

The island was often in the background with the `Lost Experience'.

At least some of the `off island' characters mentioned in the TV series were critical to the `Lost Experience'.

So...I find myself wondering if some of the flash forwards yet to come will have various lostaways trying to work their way through the `lost experience' stuff, only from a different perspective.

If some of the nastier characters from the `Lost Experience' are behind Naomi (parachutist), then much of Season four could be a sort of tense `cat and mouse' type deal between them, the lostaways, and the Others. It is possible the lostaways get `rescued' - or more accurately `removed from the island', but not until the end of Season IV.

The newspaper that Jack read on the plane (in the season 3 finale) is the April 5th, 2007 edition of the Los Angeles Times.

Also, Kurt Cobain died on the April 5th, 1994. He was singing the song playing in Jack's car ("Scentless Apprentice").

That's the answer that sums it all up then: the island is nirvana. :p

What do you all think how the losties will react to Charlies death more surely Claire?

They didn't even see it coming--only Dez knew about the prediction. I think everyone will be awed and grateful for his sacrifice.. esp Claire of course. (And I think she left the DS ring in the crib when she left the camp. I don't think she even saw it).
