  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

hello all!

I'd like to know the naturalistic explanations for how sea creatures got the top of the Himalayas mountain ranges all around the world, and how does it compare to the creationist explanation? Or are they both the same explanation and just that it was guided by God? I'm not a geologist and have no knowledge in this area and it is still very new to me.

In strict creationism sea creatures were created not having evolved from bacteria. What do you mean by a creationist explanation?

Or are they both the same explanation and just that it was guided by God?
Ah I see

What is your opinion?

unless you give your own opinion others will rightly assume that you are only here to start an argument.

Hi Greg, i'm honestly don't know. Logically speaking, these sea creatures were once lived in the water. How did they get to the mountains? Did it flood into the continent? I don't really know but that's what I'm guessing it would had been.

Ancient sea creatures (Trilobites for example) died and were buried by sediment.Over time, they fossilized while plate tectonics forced the ancient seabeds upward, some of those fossils winding up on top of mountains. The Himalayas were and are still being thrust up by the collision of the Asian and Indian plates...GPS readings have verified that they are not through rising.

i see. so how is that evidence for a global flood? the skeptic would just use your natural explanation and account for sea creatures high above sea level without even bringing in a flood. so how can the flood account for that?

That is not evidence for a global flood...to me at least. Others would say that it is...it is all a matter of perspective...I think that there was a great flood in the Neolithic times, was told and retold over the generations. It was catastrophic but not global..The writer(s) of Genesis wrote that it was, because they knew no other areas other than the surrounding areas...That was the world they knew.
