"The Bible does only one thing: it calls us to faith and obedience in the truth that we know in Jesus Christ. Scripture points not to our paths but to the truth of God." --Dietrich Bonhoeffer

What does this mean for us as we encounter people who claim to know the same Jesus that we know, but feel led by him in different directions than we would acknowledge as being the direction Christ as led us? Or that we even dreamed he might lead anyone?

You never know where you will be led even if you think that you are on the only correct path.

Depending on what you mean by the "path," I don't think God has one correct path but a different path for each of us. I'm fully convinced God wants me to be a Methodist. I have a lot of friends who are equally convinced they are called to be Presbyterians, Baptists, Episcopalians, etc. I don't think those paths are wrong just because it isn't the path God led me on.

Dear GraceSeeker. Scripture gives us one great truth to follow, Jesus Himself tells us: The great and first Commandment is: Love God with all thy heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. The second is like it: Love thy neighbour as thyself." Matthew 22: 35-40: On these two Commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets." God wants our Love, freely given and NO conditions tagged on. In Matthew 7: 7-10: we are told: " Ask and you shall receive," which means: ask God for Love and Joy, then thank God, and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour: meaning all we know and all we meet,
friends and not friends. We keep asking and receiving, then thank God and share all Love and Joy with our neighbour.
The Bible tells us: " Repent and be Born Again," give up all selfishness and change into loving sons and daughters of our Heavenly Father. God will approve and God will bless us. We might stumble and forget at times, but then we ask God to forgive us, and carry on Loving and Caring.
The Holy Spirit will help and guide us, and Jesus our Saviour will lead us all the way: JESUS IS THE WAY.
The Scripture does not point to our paths, the Scripture tells what Jesus wants us to do: Love God with all our beings, and love our neighbour as we love ourselves. Everything we say or do, MUST BE FROM LOVE AND COMPASSION.
A Christian`s great weapon is LOVE, and everything we need or want to share, must be from Love, Compassion and Joy. That is what our Heavenly Father wants from us. Love is very catching, and we will find that people will treat us the same as we treat people, and Satan and his followers will flee and run away from us. I say this with love, GraceSeeker. Greetings from Emmy, your sister in Christ.
