Lord, let me be your canvas,
Paint your colours on my life.
Let me display what you have done,
That men may praise your name.
Lord, let me show your Glory
For all the world to see -
So those who pass may praise your name
For what you've done in me.
Lord, let me be your canvas-
Let me be nothing but
A place for you to show your love-
Blank but for what you paint.
Take all I am, my Master,
Transform me with your love,
Paint what you will upon my life
Let me display your will.
Lord, let me be as nothing,
Let men see only you.
For all I am is found in you,
Your love transforms my soul.
Lord, let me be your canvas,
So all who see may pause
And wonder at the things you've done
And know the artist's power.

For anyone who read this poem in the first post, please forgive me. I wrote this poem at work which is not the most positive place to be drafting a poem that shines light. When I reread my original post this morning, I did not like the ending because it had no Christ light. Got to have light! As a Christian, my duty is to shine the light of Christ. I changed the ending of this poem, because it needed that light in the end - not darkness.

God's Children

Who made heaven and earth?
Too many can't agree.
Some answers look to science
And others to divinity.

But time moves forward
And days turn into night,
This question of creation
Still gives man cause to fight.

Believers of divinity
By faith will proclaim
God created life on earth;
Holy be His name.

So if God created life,
Are not we all a kin?
Faith, color, culture,
Are not we all God's children?

To every man who lives by faith,
Though faith may different be,
No man has the ordained right
To cause his kin misery.

And though faith of different kind,
Faith still prays to God divine.
For God gives life to every man,
And death should come by his Maker's hand.

Yet some men take their brothers' life
All in God's name;
And others may dare to ask
Who can be so vain?

But as a Christian soldier
With faith in God divine,
I shine the light of Christ!
The right to judge not mine.

I fight for love and kindness
With forgivness in my heart.
I pray my foe of evil
Will have a change of heart.

God created life on earth,
so all men are my kin.
I judge not one for evil acts
Lest I am without sin.

I am a Christian!
You are my kin!
Hate creates more hate.
Let the love of Christ in.
This I pray.

To His soldiers in the fray,
So dance, my breathern, and rejoice,
In thanksgiving raise your voice
For we received joy unreserved

Patience is a fine virtue sought by many
Many fortunes were made starting with a penny
While in the Army I had to hurry up and wait
Many have had to wait for the right mate

All of our days are filled with waiting times
We wait while the cashier counts the dimes
There is no reason to get in a rush
We all have to wait, why make a fuss

A wise old man once said to me
Time goes by fast just wait and see
Before you know it you will be old and gray
Enjoy your youth, have fun and play

I know I can't control the times and seasons
Waiting times happen for many reasons
Wisdom comes from waiting on things
The wait is worth the prize it brings

Patience and endurance goes hand in hand
The long wait is over, strike up the band
It takes time to grow a large tree
But it is worth the wait its' beauty to see

God's power must know.

"the future," trusts the power alone

Sometimes Love...

Sometimes love can be quiet
And sometimes love can be still
But always love is patient
And is a choice of our will

Sometimes love can be vibrant
Sometimes it's not easily felt
But always love is eternal
And is never boastful or proud

Sometimes love can be tender
Then sometimes hard to express
But always love is truthful
And believes in the very best

Sometimes love can be exciting
And love can sometimes be sweet
For love is always trusting
And chooses never to envy

Sometimes love can be painful

But always love is forgiving
And keeps no record of wrongs

Sometimes love can be gentle

On Every Rose

I see His blood upon the rose
And in the stars I see His eyes,
His body gleams amid eternal snows
His tears fall from the skies.

I see His face in every flower;

You've all heard this little rhyme. I just changed it up a tad bit in order to add some graphics that God inspired me to do.

Jesus is my rock
on which I stand
all other ground
is sinking sand.

Rebirth

Along life's path I trodded so,
With a living God I did not know.
Imprinted image defined by flesh,
trapped esteem in helplessness.
I had no purpose to show;
Lost and no place to grow.

A subtle whisper and call to my heart
A spiritual force trying to impart
a brighter path and holy direction,
To be born anew with godly reflection.
A thorn in my side like Apostle Paul;
Yet, woe, my will denied the call.

A spiritual power far greater still,
Weakened my Oh so stubborn will,
And in my hands a book in place
that breathed God's holy grace.
"In the beginning" spoke the page,
In my soul, His living waters rage.

The living water quenched my thirst
As I read "fear not the worst;
For the Lord is with you in good and bad;
Remain in Him there is joy to be had."
I breathed the words into my vessel
And now my soul will no more wrestle.

I have found the waterfall of life,
No more struggle and strife.
Jesus died and rose again
That I might be without sin.
I'm here today with love to impart
Reborn again with Christ in my heart.

It matters not I see the sun
For the light of man has come.
And with His spirit of comfort inside
I march as a Christian bearing His pride.
Forward I march to victory,
I'll see Him again in eternity.
