  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

What do you do with your children during the summer when they aren't in school and you are working?

I know Taylor will have a swimming membership at the country club so she can swim, but other than that I am not sure what we are going to do. I want her to go to Zoo camp for a week. She thinks she is too old for daycare, so I will probably hire a teen in our neighborhood to take care of her.

Last year her stepmom kept her for me, but since her dad has been MIA for about 8 weeks now I am doubting that will happen this year. Plus she really hates going over there.

Our summer isn't much different than the rest of the year. Breanna may go spend a couple of days with my parents, since my mom is a school teacher and have the summer off. But we haven't made any set decisions yet, I'm not sure how I feel about Brea being that far away from me.

I am off in the summer with them. I work for the school district. This will be the last year, though. I'm not sure how it is going to go next year. We are moving in June, and I will have to find a new job at the end of the summer.
But you are taking the summer off with them this year right? That is wonderful. I wish I could be off with Tay for the summer.

Swimming sounds like a good idea.I would see if they have some kind of summer programs in your country club or area.My problem with a baby sitter is that she might knot do anything and your child might get board and find her own activity. So if you do get a baby sitter make sure she provide her with a lot of activities and she's fun to be around.

I don't think we have anything like that where we are. Unless you fail the year.
We had a ton of kids take summer school classes for that very reason. You may want to check into it.

Also, you could check into other classes given in areas of her interest. If she's into fashion, she could take a design class, sewing, etc. You could check with a local museum/library/rec center to see what classes they have.

We live in a very small town and where I work is close to that town, so there isn't anything that is easy to get her to. I would love for her to go to art camp, but being that I have to be at work at 7:00 I can't get her to something like that.
