Scents of a man / Scents of a woman

There was a thread started in the women's area about what scents we liked on a man.
I know at least one of our single gents was doing "research" in that thread. His word.

Let's share with each other what man and woman scents we like.
Seems we are interested in what the other sex likes on us and what the other sex may like as a gift.

I like Jovan Musk for men. I have given it to a couple of different men I knew.

For myself I like Cachet.
Growing up my mom use to use Charlie - EEK - nasty.

On a guy- aftershave. Even if he hasn't shaved. I've never cared much for how strong cologne is on men. Except for Acqua di Gio. That's sexy... ;)

On women- I like different scents on different people. No scent is alike on two people because of their different pH levels so what I like on someone won't work for me. But I'm partial to light, mildly floral scents.

I've ALWAYS wanted to have my signature fragrance made for me. It's a tad pricey at $85 for a 1 fl. oz. bottle, but it would be so nice to have a scent that was made just for me. Of course when I enter my info to design the scent it pops up with something that I'd probably never give a second thought to in a store... funny how that works...

Scents Hmmmmmmm! I like then as long as I can get away from them if they are over powering. The real problem in my neck of the woods is that the gals won't wear them.
All I know is that who every owned my SUV wore some scent that drives me wild every time I get into it. The only scent that I have is the one given to me that is Obsession.

My GF wears Romance by CK. I dig it. I can't remember the other one she wears I like.

The ones I own ( the ones she likes on me) Are as follows...
Aqua Di Gio by Armani
Emporio by Armani
Mania by Armani
L'eau D'issey by Issey Miyake
Him by **** (French Connection United Kingdom)
Romance by C.K.

I own more but those are the ones she really likes.

I thinks scents are unique on each person, like someone said, it's their pH, their body chemistry that works with or against the fragrance of the scent.

I like earthy/woodsy scents on men. I also think the relationship to them that brings their scent to the 'drives me wild' stage. Just my opinion. There are two scents I have differing connotations with that I'm not sure I could dig a guy whom I've developed an intimate relationship. They are Old Spice and Brut. Grandpa used to wear Old Spice, so that's an excellent connotation. My brother and I used to have perfume/cologne fights, not sure who started it, but the Brut always won! :p

I think you mean pheromones+cologne. That combo is unique to everyone.

Actually, it's a combination of pH and pheremones. Acidity also affects the bouquet of a scent, much like it does wine. But pheremones are what makes a scent unique to an individual.

Good info. I've never heard that pH played any part in it.

I like "Angel" on women. There are certain other ones that my ex used to use that I liked, but I can't remember the exact names, they were by Chanel though.

For myself, I like to wear Brut mostly. I have a whole bunch of different colognes that I've received as gifts - and most of them smell good - but I prefer to used Brut most of the time.

Have you tried offering them candy?
:D :help:

Most women are partial to chocolate... I found myself eating 5 Hershey's Kisses this afternoon.

But the candy thing is only likely to attract the really young ones and they all smell like vanilla or candy anyway. If that's the way you're gonna go, you may as well just sniff the piece of candy. Less headache involved.

No, I can't really see, "Hi, how's it goin'? If you let me sniff your heavenly aroma there's a Snickers bar in it for you." It might work on zoo animals. Though you don't have to get real close to smell them anyway. Not that you'd want to.

In other words, for you chocolate produces an out-of-body experience? If other women react similarly, that’s good info.

LOL, yeah. Plus, people get funny ideas when you’re at a playground and calling kids over to hand out candy from the window of your parked Caprice Classic.

Like I'm gonna know the names of their perfume? :p But hey, I've not met many women that smelled bad ;)

I use Curve for Men by Liz Clairbourne (sp?).. it's not as obnixous as a lot of those colognes, and believe me, wearing waaaay to much obnoxious cologne is a standard thing for at least half of the UPS drivers around here.

after taking a shower smell... ha...ha... I really don't know what scent I like for a guy... Seems like almost all the colognes and/or perfumes they have for guys irritate my nose a lot! Since I've never dated or have been around a lot of guys, I really don't know what kinds of scents--colognes and perfumes they wear... So, in general, anything that doesn't irritate my delicate and sensitive nose :D. As for me: I like to spray Bath and Body Works' Pearberry scent--it smells so refreshing
