• The General Mental Health Forum is now a Read Only Forum. As we had two large areas making it difficult for many to find, we decided to combine the Mental Health & the Recovery sections of the forum into Mental Health & Recovery as a whole. Physical Health still remains as it's own area within the entire Recovery area.

If you are having struggles, need support in a particular area that you aren't finding a specific recovery area forum, you may find the General Struggles forum a great place to post. Any any that is related to emotions, self-esteem, insomnia, anger, relationship dynamics due to mental health and recovery and other issues that don't fit better in another forum would be examples of topics that might go there.

If you have spiritual issues related to a mental health and recovery issue, please use the Recovery Related Spiritual Advice forum. This forum is designed to be like Christian Advice, only for recovery type of issues. Recovery being like a family in many ways, allows us to support one another together. May you be blessed today and each day.

The other night i drank so much and then mixed it with drugs. I have been so sick lately. I mixed my alcohol with Acid, coke and marijuana. I have never done acid before the other night. I want to make sure that i do not become addicted. I've been using drugs a lot more often now than i have been. I'm scared.

I've done similar things before. I'm addicted to ecstacy and speed mostly, but I've tried coke and many others. I've been to detox recently, haven't done any hard drugs in around three weeks. All this to say there's no gain in doing them. It'll only take you down, no matter how much control you think you have. In then end it'll only cause a lot of pain to yourself and those around you.

Mixing drugs and alcohol can be very dangerous. Luckily your combination wasn't lethal or extremely dangerous, if you took low doses that is.

Regular use of coke will lead to addiction. The highs only last around half an hour, so you want to do it a lot more. Plus you'll start to gain tolerance quickly. You'll need a lot more to get high. Also, you're always trying to reach the same high as the first few times, which isn't really possible. I'd caution you to try and stop using hard drugs. Stick to weed if it helps getting off chems. Your priority is stopping the dangerous drugs, I'm going through it right now.

How long have you been doing chems?

First off JohnathanM congrats on your new found recovery.

alonenhurt, You are not alone, although the claws of what you are doing begins to tell you that. It is a baffling, destructive disease.

I ended up in the hospital and then onto rehab for drinking and doing a prescribed drug. The combo came so close to killing me, it scared me sober. And I Thank God for the second chance. I do know that all I had to do was take the 1st step and God opened so many doors.

The drugs blind your brain and you begin to take risks even things that go against your own morals as it will become you top priority.

I will be praying for you, and by asking the question you did is a beginning of the 1st step and God is tugging at your heart. :groupray:

Alonenhurt, I wish there was something I could do to fix everything for you, including the meaning behind that username...but then of course, that's what God is for!

I'm sure you know this, but I want to reiterate it just so I know I've said all I can: acid is SERIOUS. I haven't used acid in about 2 years, and I had a flashback just the other day. It will come back to haunt me, and I know that, and I don't want you to fall victim to that. As for coke and alcohol, in proper dosages, that's a deathwish. I'm so glad that you are concerned about yourself and that you came here to seek the help of Christians and others who genuinely care about you and your struggles--I know I do.

My prayers are with you, and don't ever forget that Christ loves you and forgives you for everything...just ask!!

Love, loyalty, and friendship,
Lizzie

Hello,
Just a note to your post from someone who has alot of experience with drugs and drug abuse. Weed is just as bad as the other "hard" drugs. It triggers mental illness in many people, and it is not wise to take it to help get off chemicals. It is best to stay off all drugs, weed being up there with coke, e's, speed etc. :)
