  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Does anyone remember these? Wait...what am I saying. Of course you remember these. They still use them in schools today. The paper forms used primarily for answering multiple choice test questions using ONLY a number-2 pencil.

Can you believe these are still being used after decades of use. No change in the technology whatsoever (as far as I know). What a crazy world we live in.

Okay, I just remembered something about these. I had a science teacher that didn't like to run them through the machines, so, what he would do is take a blank one, and cut out a square around all the right answers.

Then, when you turned yours in, he'd just put it under the one with the squares cut out. Then he could see if the blackened part for each answer was in the square. If it was, you got it right. If not, he'd put a red X on the right answer.

Did anyone else have a teacher that did this?

A couple of times he lined them up wrong and marked up all the wrong answers on peoples tests.:help:

I remember using them as a student; I prefer using them as a student than as a T.A. All those threats teachers made about how "if you don't fill in the blanks COMPLETELY..." are true. Stupid scantrons.

My Scantron Story:
At the end of this last Fall semester, the professor I assist was taking two large lecture classes' worth of scantrons to be graded by the machine. It was raining out, and somehow all of the scantrons fell into a big puddle. Since they all got wet (about 200 scantrons) and dried wavy/ripply like paper tends to, the machine wouldn't accept them. Guess who got to go through and grade each one by hand?
