Saturday or Sunday

Not sure if I can post a link...but I thought this person had an interesting arguement and I'm very curious to see what the Baptist people on CF think.

I'm looking first for biblical references, history second and, if you think relevant, opinions last.

I think I was always taught that Sunday was the day that Jesus rose, so that's why we go to church on Sunday. However, my understanding is that historically it was not a Sunday on which Jesus rose.... But that's an entirely different discussion.

I don't think you'll get anyone to say "Sunday is the Sabbath"... I believe the word "Saturday" **means** Sabbath Day. heh.

I don't personally think it's relevant which day we go to church. I usually attend on Saturday EVENING at my church, because I prefer evenings over mornings, and I enjoy the less crowded Saturday service. (It's identicle to the Sunday service at my church)

I'm sure others can provide more factual responses.

Christ died on the passover sabbath, and the regular sabbath (same day, Friday night) and rose again on Sunday.

NT Christians broke bread on Sunday too.
