I was just wondering if anyone here might happen to be able to direct me to passages in the Bible that talk about Satan and as to how he likes to lie and trick people into doing things that he knows are against Gods wishes and commands.

I am also hoping that maybe someone might be able to also point me in the right direction to find the right scriptures that discuss as to how God expects us to act when satan attempts to attack us and lie to us in any way.

I am just curious because I know that Satan did tempt Jesus once, but was unsuccessful at getting Jesus to convert and to sin because he knew as to what Satan was like and as to how to conduct spiritual warfare against him.

Just off the top of my head is a passage from the Book of James:

Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Grieve, mourn and wail. Change your laughter to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. (James 4:7-10 TNIV)

I like how this passage reminds us that resistance to Satan must begin with submission to God. Holding on to our own desires not only gives the Devil an area to exploit, but also keeps us from doing the things God desires us to do. It is in submission that we gain the strength to even be able to resist Satan. Letting go of ourselves is what brings us nearer to God, and that is where we can find strength. And as the passage points out, it's not always easy! Humility before God requires repentance, and while that isn't always fun, it is very necessary for us to be able to fight against evil and to do the good God wants us to do.

So that's just my take on a few verses. I hope that helps, and I'm sure you'll be recommended some more. God bless you.

Satan uses the fact that most people in history have woefully underestimated him and his dark powers as well as using temptations against our fallen nature like lust, greed, hate, power, and hubris. Read:
Revelation 21:6-8
Ephesians 6:10-18

Google "Spiritual warfare" & "how to fight demons"
People can be healed and demons cast out if you have great faith and do it with authority in the name of Jesus Christ the Son of the Most High God. Read how Jesus and His disciples did it exactly. Fasting and prayer is needed many times. I know of a story where a godly man trying to cast out an unclean spirit from a boy was told by the demon that he was too "full" to cast him out and he turned out to be right. The man fasted and prayed vigorously for a few days and came back. The spirit was last heard to say, "Oh no, you have been with Jesus" right before he was sent out of the boy. It is a good idea to command the spirit in the Name of Jesus Christ the Son of the Most High God where and where not to go next. Emotion, faith, authority, fasting, prayer, and doing it all in the Lord's Name and asking for His help that His glory and will be done. Goodluck in your study. God bless you and yours.
