  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

How does one become canonized as a saint
By either 1) being acknoweledged as a martyr, or 2) Pope declares you are a saint (more to it than I can explain).
what does that mean in this life or the next? Thanks!
In means nothing for you in this life because you have to be dead to be canonized. All it means for the next life is that you are going to be getting a lot more people praying to you for intercession to our Lord. There are probably MANY MANY MANY more people in heaven than those who have been declared to be by the Church.

Interesting. If someone could go into deeper detail I'd be much obliged :D

But the ones who arent canonized, the 'MANY MANY' that you refer to, can people still pray to them? And when someone prays to them, does it go like this?

My Prayer > Saint Joe Bob > Jesus > Our Heavenly Father?

Yep.

They can, but it would be safer to pray similar to, "If you are with our Lord in Heaven with Him, I pray to you that you will interced to our Lord on (insert prayer request)". And add then, "I pray to the Lord that if you are not with Him in paradise right now, that you will be soon."

sounds like a long process, how long does it take?
it uslay take many many many years.
There are cases like Mother Thresea that go fast because their life is already documented.
But there is no set time frame. Further investigation can always be requested by various groups involed. There is alsos some one assigned to play the role of devil advicate that will try to show that your not quilfied.

they don't lie, thuy just look for stuff that the person did that would be classified as good role modle. Their job is to just to present the other side of the story.
