Sad News!

Well the girl in my algebra, class wants an abortion around Christmas. She wants to kill her baby, around the time that we celebrate, Jesus' birth!

I told her, I thought what I gave her helped her, and that my uncle believes that you have a choice.....that is, you make the choice to sleep with someone, then you must accept the consequences! I told her also, that she'll have to deal with having an abortion for the rest of her life, that it's wrong.

I told my aunt and uncle, i'd adopt the baby. My uncle, is like Yeah if they want it to have 24 mothers and 1 Mother Superior! Yet he says, I haven't convinced him I want to be a nun! I'm lost!

Give her the web address, but go ahead and print out the pics and info from the third and fourth month gestation. Show her what her baby will look like. There is alot of time between now and December to change her mind.

About your vocation: Don't be discouraged. If God is truly calling you, He'll also provide a way for you to answer. Your spiritual director will help you with this.

You've got to tell her of the number of people who are DYING to have babies but can't and that there are simply not enough babies put up for adoption to go around! Tell her that this baby can still have a wonderful life with a loving family if she'll just stick it out for the 9 months and give it up. Praying for this situation! God have mercy!

Yes, she should know there are many many parents that are going through a personal hell to get a baby of their own. Many American parents have to go to third world countries and go through all sorts of stress just in the hope of getting a kid.

I think your desire to adopt the child to save it shows how perfect you would be to be a nun...

Aw, that is a sad situation. Show her that website, and just tell her what everyone else has said. But make sure that you don't yell at her. If you do, she could just stop listening to you. Be a loving voice.

Remember to witness to her through your actions.

She is probably going through an extremely scary and unpleasant time of her life - and if she feels she is being attacked she might turn away from your wise advice and support.

And remember to love the sinner and hate the sin. I say this because a good friend of mine had a termination recently, and she didn;t tell anyone until afterwards. I was surprised at my own reaction to her news, as when I listened to her speak about it I felt nothing but love and devastation on her behalf. And of course I wish she had discussed her thoughts with someone before she had the baby aborted.

I will pray for this girl and her baby. Is there a crisis pregnancy center in the area? Maybe you can ask her to go with you to the center and receive counseling and options.

I had two babies I gave up for adoption-- with the first one even more difficult than telling my folks I was pregnant, I had to tell them I had no idea who the father was. I was so scared and prayed all the time that I would have a miscarriage. I know asa a teenager nine months seems like forever-- but it is really a blink of an eye. With all of the really really bad choices I have made in my life- but I was blessedly spared the heartache of having killed my own child. Whenever I think about those children- I have peace- peace that they are with families who waited so long for them and were ready to make sacrifices that I could not.

Anyway-- if she would like to chat with someone who has been there-- but where she can still retain her anonimity- let me know!!

Meanwhile I'll be praying for her and her little one...

I found this article and a website on it about an organization you may want to let your friend know about. The group is about a young adult group's pro-life witness. This organization and the Cardinal in that article would be happy to know you are a witness to this girl as she is in this confused and I am sure a very scary time in her life not knowing what to do.

One of my first days of high school, they showed us a video of an abortion being performed... If there was ever ANY thought of having an abortion, all one could do is remember what that video looked like. Out of all the girls in my class, I believe that 5 of them had babies out of wedlock and I only know of one that had an abortion. I think showing those videos are somewhat brainwashing in a way, but a picture is worth a thousand words... and if it saved 5 lives in my graduating class then it must be worth it.
