A homeless man has made the news lately and has been talked about a lot.

Today at 2am, the bus shelter where he sleeps was set on fire and he died. He suffered from mental illness and help was offered. I just cannot believe someone would do this...

Could it have been a fire set for other reasons and someone didn't know the guy was in there?

The word is now that two 14-year-old boys set the fire... on purpose... at 2am. Everyone knew this man was living in the bus shelter, they are very small and transparent, it's so obvious he was there, he had been all over the news recently, he lived in this small town on the streets for the past 6 months and people were making nasty comments on the radio and everything and it is now attracting nation-wide media attention.

If it is true it was 14 years olds, then I am not surprise. The things kids do these days and we want to treat them with kid gloves and not the criminals they are.

I see homeless people all the time and it makes me feel bad when I left things in my life affect me.

Someone out there will miss him.

There was a vigil the other night and hundreds of people attended.
If they are kids, their names won't be released if they are under 18. I think if you're doing serious adult crimes, you should have to deal with the punishment like an adult.

Seven local churches host the homeless at night from November to April, I signed up to volunteer next week.

I have read that homeless people are targeted because they are homeless.

It seems to me that it is not much different from things like workers in a nursing home abusing, sexually assaulting, etc. residents.

I do not have a PhD in psychology, but I think that it is a common understanding that when people feel insecure they target the weak and the powerless. It is like how children abuse animals. Animals are weak and powerless and make an easy target for a child.

Now, I don't know how different that bus shelter is from the bus shelters around here. But if it's similar to them, I'm wondering how he didn't get out. Was the entrance that well blocked off, was he in that deep of a sleep, or was he just that messed up?
