I am so sorry to hear of this. My thoughts and prayers are with his family, his congregation, and all of you in the PCA as you mourn this loss. May God bring healing and growth through this tragedy.

It is sad when one of God's children takes their own lives. We do not know all that led to this point. Only God knows all the facts and He is a merciful God. Lord we pray for this family and church. We also pray for the soul of our brother who died. May you welcome him into the eternal kingdom of Your Beloved Son.

The article noted above concludes with this:

I reject this. This leaves no room for mental illness and I am convinced that many a suicide must be the result of mental illness. The suicide victims that I have known in the past were not Christians, but I have seen chemical imbalances wreak havoc on an individual. From a reformed perspective, only God knows human hearts, but the elect will be saved, suicide or not.
