There's no comparison here.

Someone who ascribes to a life-long pursuit of a violent religion in which the religion systematically indoctrinates hate, to someone from a essentially peaceful faith 'hearing voices'.

With no evidence linking them to the teachings of Christ there's no logical reason for making objections. I accept hatred of Christianity is not rational, however.

We can ingore what the religion ascribes and say Buddhism is violent because a buddhist did this or that.

You'll find that a great many people already confused think that everything is the same. That's why you'll find no argument based on causal links

Firstly, I take that as an admission no such evidence is there. Else it would have been presented.

What would be the point? It's clear some people will draw connections based on no evidence regardless.

Here's another thing.

If you could stand on the cliffs of Dover in the year 1940 you could look up and see two groups of pilots trying to kill each other. Both groups were probably filled with nationalistic zeal. Both were in one sense essentially doing the same thing - trying to kill the other. However motive is important - one was the agrressor, the other the victrim of that aggression.

Therefore to say that two apparently similar actions were the same would be too superficial

However until evidence is presented then I guess that's the level some people are happy with.
