I think this analogy of the Sacraments is awesome!

"In one of the stanzas there's a line that goes something like this, "Silent night, holy night, Son of God, Love's pure light." If we think of Jesus Christ as the PURE light, after all, he said, "I am the light of the world," in him is light and there is no darkness. If Christ is Love's pure light, then we can think of the Church as a prism. What happens when light hits a prism? That light is refracted and we have the seven colors of the spectrum, don't we? Coincidentally, how are those seven colors categorized or distinguished in the two categories? There are primary colors, which are three, and then there are four secondary colors.

To use the analogy, those colors are the sacraments that refract for us the glory of Christ as that pure light received by the Church. And the indelible sacraments, Baptism, Confirmation and Holy Orders are like the three primary colors. Interesting analogy...but I thought that the Holy Eucharist would be like one of the three primary colors =)

Yes, I would think so too but the first paragraph idea is beautiful. I mean, I did some research into rainbows and white is all the colours combined together, for instance the sun has all the colors and when the are combined they look white. I always thoght that white was colourless and black was all the colours mixed together.

Consider this as well:
"His face gleamed like such precious stones as jasper and carnelian, and all round the throne there was a rainbow the colour of an emerald." Rev4:3

I would really like to understand the meaning of that symbolism.

Here's a few interesting thoughts:

Revelation 4:3 is a passage while directly parallels Ezekiel 1:28:

Like the appearance of a rainbow in a cloud on a rainy day, so was the appearance of the brightness all around it. This was the appearance of the likeness of the glory of the LORD. So when I saw it, I fell on my face, and I heard a voice of One speaking. (Ezekiel 1:28, NKJV)
