I am so frustrated right now. I am not impressed with my boss's behaviour on the best of days, but now he is planning these spring recitals (I teach piano lessons) and is trying to insist on putting my students on Sabbath (not that he has any clue what Sabbath is).
I had explained to him at the winter recital that I can no longer do recitals on Saturday and now he has put me on Sabbath again. I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and say maybe he forgot. My students can go without me but I like to be there for them to support them or do duets with them. This year my boss has started changing the rules about various things at work, including the recitals and it doesn't seem like he cares what is good for the students.
This man doesn't seem to understand at all that God is the most important priority in my life; He once told me that I should be getting paid to play piano at church, for example. So I'm not surprised that he doesn't understand the importance of keeping the Sabbath holy.
I am very frustrated with him in general at this point, but mostly about this issue. Sabbath is a day I look forward to spending all day at church with my brothers and sisters in Christ and serving the Lord. I usually am there all day, from 9ish a.m. until around 9 p.m. in the summer and I hold that as priority far above going to recitals. Any suggestions? I am praying for patience and wisdom but right now, I dunno....
