What I find amazing when talking to some Christians.

They use human reasoning to decide they don't have to do what God clearly tells them. So they say 9 commandments must be kept, but if you say they need to keep the 4th commandment the Sabbath day, they say you are "legalistic" or are trying to "Earn Salvation".

So are you legalistic because you don't murder? Are you trying to earn salvation because you don't use idols?

John 5:18 - This was why the Jews were seeking all the more to kill him, because not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his own Father, making himself equal with God.

I just find it hilarious how...Jesus Himself didn't function like an SDA.

keeping the law is never the means of salvation but rather the result of it.

keeping the Sabbath day holy is as much about loving God with all our being as is remembering your wedding anniversary is loving your spouse. both are days commemorating a special event that show how much we care about the person we're observing the day for.

These are a shadow of the things to come, but the substance belongs to Christ. You are so correct. They brag about being the ones who keep the 10 commandments without even considering that the 10 did not even contain the law to love God or our fellow man. They cringe when 2Cor 3:7-11 is mentioned and will do everything to avoid giving a true evaluation of the verses.

I have to admit they have figured out a great way to convince people that they have to observe laws given only to Israel which couldn't keep them and lost the land of milk and honey at Calvary when the New Covenant was ratified by Jesus own blood. (long sentence, but the truth)

They do convince those who have no prior knowledge of the covenants, but at what cost. Millions after millions of hard earned dollars given by people who are just scraping by go to bring in but a very few converts especially here in the US where many are aware. They tell us the 10 are written on the heart. If that were so then it would seem like it wouldn't take the millions spent to try, mostly unsuccessfully. If the Sabbath were heart felt people would come on their own accord, join without coercion, and would not be knocking the hinges off the back doors getting out when they finally find out they are in a church teaching falsehood.

I beg your pardon TW, the facts are that we are not using "human reasoning" in deciding how to serve our Savior. It is all there in the new Covenant as how we are to serve Him and it does not tell us we have to observe ritual laws given only to the now defunct nation of Israel. God clearly gave laws to Israel and them only. There is nothing in our new covenant telling us we have to live by the rules laid down to Israel.

Now about legalism, I have studied several cults and each one has some favorite topic they through out there and insist the body of believers must do to earn salvation. The SDA church is no exception. Your prophet has spoken on the issues you tote as being God's demands in order to be saved. If you don't "keep" the Sabbath given only to Israel you will loose your eternal inheritance. That is a lie and it smacks of legalism.

We don't murder because we believe in Jesus as our Savior and we love to keep His commandments to love God and love our fellow man as Jesus loves us.
