like I said about the new moons... why not create another sda like church that has new moons in its programme and call everyone else an unbeliever... at best with a predicted and failed 2nd coming that goes before...
The word, sabbath, only means rest or cease. There were many sabbaths all throughout the OT. The rest is not what makes a day holy, the day is holy so we rest to acknowlege its holiness. With this, we have to determine why a day is holy. The seventh day of creation is holy because it's a sign of creation and testifies of a Creator. It's used for many other signs as well such as a sign to Israel to remind them of a time in slavery when they did not have freedom to cease labor to worship God. It's used as a means to testify which God we worship. It's used to setarate a people for God. It's used as a sign of delieverence from the bondage of sin. It's also used as a picture of our heavenly kingdom time when we, as God's people, will all be together in the kingdom of God. Some the signs that the Sabbath is used for are not for us but some are. Either way, the day is holy and protected by Law because it was created holy and remains holy. It's holiness has nothing to do with sin, in the same way, marriage is holy.
I choose to keep both marriage and the seventh day, just as God says and Jesus taught.

God is interested in the circumcision of the heart but is the literal circumcision still benificial today?

Any argument to degrade or belittle these powerful truths will stand against you in the last day.

And the argument is there. Paul is referencing a familiar way of listing the appointed times. And those times included the Sabbath.

I argued in GT for the Sabbath for quite some time. But I could no longer ignore texts like Col 2:16, Romans 14, Galatians 4:10, Acts 15, etc.

Jesus kept other appointed times as well, and even greatly desired to eat the passover.
And yes Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath. And the Jewish believers went right on keeping it. There was good reason for His reform of it. Great for them. The gentiles were not required to and we are not to judge on it. Great for them.
Colossions 2:16 is referring to the shadows that were instituted as a result of sin.
Romans14 is dealing with doubtful things, in other words, things not specifically commanded by God.
Acts 15 is not an end all list otherwise I can murder, steal, lie, dishonor my parents as long as I dont eat blood.
Galatians is referring to keeping the Law as a means to be justified.
As the OT listings show the listing of the appointed times in Col. 2:16 included the Sabbath, which also has sacrifices on it, and is also a shadow.
Romans 14 is dealing with things people were disagreeing over, but as Col. 2:16 shows people could keep days or not keep days.
Acts is indeed not a listing of all things they had to do. But it was indicating that no one had to be circumcised and be Jews to be Christian.
Gentiles were not commanded to keep the Sabbath.And Paul says not to judge on the issue.
Galatians the book is dealing with legalism. However, as part of that he is upset that they are observing times.
Everyone is entitled to their opinion but as for me in my house we will follow the Lord.
