Hi! My name is Courtney and I know very little about the Salvation Army. I recently came across the Salvation Army's website as I was looking for Christian resources that help people caught in Human Trafficking- and the Salvation Army was one of the few I found. I must say first off that I am more than impressed that the Salvation Army has a hotline for people trapped in the industry and also that they provide resources for them to help them get out. It literally brought tears to my eyes to see that there are Christians out there doing something about this horrible enterprise! I am a former prostitute/stripper. I have a heart for women still in the industry and my heart really breaks for those being trafficked!

I am wondering where the people work or volunteer that man the hotline and provide assistance for those in the industry. I thoroughly scanned the website in hopes of finding the location, but could not figure it out! I am thinking that someday I would like to work/volunteer for this service. I am currently 5 months pregnant and out on disibility so I don't think I could do it right now, but in the future I think I would love to help out....

God bless and any information you have on this would be appreciated!

Hi Courtney

I think you will find that there are very good reasons why the Salvation Army do not mention where their hotline staff are. I can only assume that the people involved in people trafficking are most likely violent people, who might target anyone who is trying to help their victims escape, and as a result, keeping the hotline staff safe would mean keeping their location secret. It's the same as the refuges that are run by the SA for people escaping domestic violence, the less people that know the location, the safer the refuge is.

I would suggest that you maybe contact them via email, if there's an email address on the site, and see what happens from there.

God Bless.
Dion.
