I guess the SAHMs are all out! LOL!!

i just wanted to share with you all that i think i have uncovered the mystery to Jake's night-waking!

The other night he was up screaming again. I went in and he was sitting facing the wall (his crib is up against the wall on one side of the room, and face out towards the older boys' Thomas beds.) He was crying out "lion mamma, Lion!" I thought he said "crying." So i asked him why are you crying...then he said Lion again. i said there are no lions here honey, just Stephen and Nick. (Nick was snoring!) I picked him up and showed him Nick and Stephen in bed. I said it's just Nick. Jake repeated me..."just Nick."

Then, I put him back to bed and he started crying again! I picked him up and asked what was wrong. He said "scarey mommy." When i asked what he was scared of, he didn't answer. Then i put him on the floor, and he screamed louder. then Nick moved in his bed, and Jake jumped, screamed and hugged my leg!!!

was he afraid of Nick?? I thought not! You see, the boys' thomas beds (the face of thomas the train) face Jake's crib. He cannot see beyond the face to the actual bed, because it's higher up than the bed. SOOOO!!! He couldn't see that it was just his brothers over there...he thought they were lions or tigers or bears, oh my!

It's not funny, but it is, you know??? Anyway, he wouldn't go back to bed for anything, so he slept with me until he was fast asleep. then i brought him back to his crib. the next day i moved the crib and beds around so that he can now see in their beds and cannot see the face of Thomas the train. simple huh?!
He has been sleeping through for 3 nights now! with absolutely no waking up!!!! WOOOHOOO! I hope that that was what all this waking up was about! it makes sense, because back in March, when we put his crib in with his brothers, that's when he started this whole ordeal!

can you believe that!!??!!

Awww, poor sweetheart. Children are scared of so many things in the dark. My daughter, who is an old child at 9 is still sleeping with a night light on. She claims that a clock of two praying children that we used to have in her room would come to life at night. It would scare her to no end when she was about 6 years old. We removed it when she kept insisting that they would make faces at her while she was trying to sleep.

I thought it was funny as well but to them it is so real and they will not rest until the item of their fears is done away with. In your case, all it took was a little bit of rearranging of the beds. In our case I had to take the clock out and it quietly sits in my bedroom closet. It hasn't made faces at me yet but then it's inside the closet and I can't see it.

Aww! One time, my daughter told me that there were dogs in her blanket. So we prayed that Jesus would come and take them away. The next time (a few months later) she said there were spiders in her room. So we prayed again and she asked Jesus to take the spiders into his sleeve and bring them outside. (AWW!). When it's dark and she sees shadows and cries out "MONSTERS!" I'll say to her, what do you say to bad monsters? She'll say "In the Name of Jesus, monsters, GO AWAY! I'm a child of God and I'm not afraid o'you! What a life lesson! Bless MIL for reminding me to bring the dependence on God into her life now for the monsters so that when other monsters come she'll be prepared!

My mother says that kids whose imaginations are too vivid are that way because they are creative enough to think beyond the regular day to day stuff. She's an art teacher, so I choose to believe her.

The timing of this conversation is uncanny.

This morning, at 6 a.m., my youngest, our son, 6 years old, came running into our room, and litterally jumped in our bed and scrambled under the covers between hubby and I . He has never done this. (And yes, it scared the daylights out of me!)

He was crying, and I finally got him to tell me what was wrong. He said that something jumped on him. (NOW I was wide awake...it is getting cold out here, and I wondered if maybe it was a mouse that somehow snuck in our house.) When I asked him how big it was, he said as big as our dog! (she's a lab if that gives you any idea.)

So, then knowing it was a dream, I asked him what it looked like, and he said , "I don't know, because then I woke up." (Dream confirmed). Later he couldn't even remember that it happened.

Bless their little amazing minds.

Oh yes... my daugher told me a story the other day...

"Once upon a time there was a little baby sheep on a castle. She met a banana and they were good friends. But the castle was falling!! And "AHHHA" it fell... but the little baby sheep was happy because she had good friends."

It was SOO precious to hear with her facial expressions and little voice and emphasis on certain parts... Gosh I love my kids! **envisions them...** I gotta go hug 'em!

Today my mum once again brought up the fact that i'm a SAHM.

She believes that me staying at home is ultimately going to bring an end to my marriage.

She told me "men don't respect a women who doesn't work!"

She is a single mum who worked all her life and hasn't been in any relationship with any man in over 20 years!

No matter how many times i tell her Jesse (hubby) prefers me to stay at home rather than put our son in childcare she still insist that the end it nigh!

it's driving me bonkers

She told me "men don't respect a women who doesn't work!"

Just keep praying for her to fall in love with Jesus; every heart change is eventually inevitable after that. From the sounds of it - she doesn't respect a woman that doesn't work but if she said that you'd be more apt not to listen to her advice than if she were manipulative and concern you over whether you will lose your husband (not that it worked)!

Another example of feminism at work... "not what God says, what I say goes. I don't like this whole idea that women submit and that women are more easily deceived so forget that, I'm going to do my own thing."

That started all the way back in Eden. Women today no longer see the value of the work they contribute aside from financial support (which if it is being submissive for them to work - then submit; but if dh is okay with you being home, God has a special job for you there!).

But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33

Okay... lol off of my soapbox!

Kazamatz.. I've heard that most woman in the european countries don't support SAHM's.... and it's really frowned upon. At least that's what a friend from the UK told me...
I'd just ignore what she says and do what you feel the Lord is leading to you do with being a SAHM...

which is more than i can say for some people in my home!!

And we both know who that is. I'm here praying for you MARE!

O.K. SAHMs....let's give ourselves permission for at least one whole day....to allow anyone who makes us feel like less than we are to bring us down on any level. Not today .

Maybe if we can manage one day, we will manage to do it for 2 days and so on and so on....
