  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hey you guys,
I was wondering what you guys do about rules that are necessary for you special needs child safety/health but not necessary for your "normal" children. For example, my daughter has tone adjusters in both ears. Her audiologist recommended she not use ear phones or head phones of any kind because it can damage the tone adjusters. But my other kids are for the most part perfectly healthy. SO obviously this rule doesn't really apply to them. I'm starting to think this along with other rules that apply to her but not her siblings are hard for Cassie. But at the same time I don't want the others to feel burdened by their sisters medical issues. Any suggestions?

I don't have any suggestions, but we will be facing similar problems. My son will be on a very restricted diet when he gets older and may demonstrate food-seeking behaviors. We may even have to lock all of our food up. I can't imagine that that wouldn't have a big impact on our other children.

If our son remains seizure free as he has been for 2 years we won't have to deal with that. If his seizures return he will have restrictions, esp. when it comes to driving. The best solution I've come up with is honesty. Just explain why the restrictions need to be followed. I know that's a very simplistic answer from someone who isn't in your shoes. Good luck.

BTW, how old is Cassie?

My son has Prader-Willi Syndrome, and he's featured on the website currently. He's the baby in green.

I'm not sure. i do know my cousins son is allergic to peanuts (including anything with peanut oil). he is so allergic that even a small amt could kill him. So my cousin brings NOTHING with any peanut/peanut oil into the house and none of the 4 kids can eat it. (that includes all candy bars/chocolate becasue they are made in the same factory as reeses cups etc).
