And.. that is to muddle the truth. Divide and conquer.

God is in control. The earth is not going to melt. There will be no mass extinction.. collapse of ecosystems.....
Satan is the Prince of this earth.. he knows his time is short. He can only do as much as God gives him permission to do though.
This whole climate issue is no different.. It is pitting brother against brother... the truth is muddled and the political landscape is polarized left to right....

Climate change is debatable and political as well as requiring global cooperation.
Pollution, air, water and land seem to be more local concerns... even down to the city or town level. In fact, even one's own daily habits.
I wonder if the former nations of the Sahara had similar discussions.The previous drought ended in 2103 and we are in another and deeper drought now. Rainfall continues to fall because we don't get any rain from low pressure systems over the southern states.
So why have the low pressure systems that used to give us rain, disappeared altogether?
What changed was the low pressure systems are contracting, further and further south, and away from the Australian continent. You can visually confirm this by observing weather maps from the sixties, seventies, and eighties. Compared to weather maps from the last twenty years.
So droughts must become more severe over time. Even the heavy monsoonal rainfall up north is also in serious decline.
God spoke in the beginning, has been talking through earth's history and will speak at the end. So it is not true that God has the last word.
I would not regard that as an accurate statement certainly not supported by any department of meteorology.
I probably would be hesitant to even refer to the present weather event as a drought. As droughts break but rainfall is declining and this drought is more of a permanent phenomenon.

Pollution is not merely a local concern not when the pollution is from say nuclear sites such as Fukushima and Chernobyl. We all received doses of radiation from these nuclear meltdowns. These sites remain active and probably will be no go zones for a very long time.
On the other hand the climate change data indicates that the temperature is rising.
Whether or not the earth has undergone such extreme temperature changes as seen over the last seventy years, remains to be seen.
What cannot be debated is that mankind is having an increasing influence on this planet's natural sustainability. That we are slowly changing the planet's climate system is beyond any real debate.

ahh now we get to my initial point to you -- do you actually have millions of years of daily climate monitoring to even KNOW how 10 or 20 or 100 years today compares to 100 years 10 million years ago? (or 4500 years ago). THIS is the actual point that is being debated... not all that other nonsensical no-climate change fluff. This is where you are simply "winging it" to make such an outlandish claim to have compared a 100 year time span 2 million years ago -- to a 100 year time span today.

I am aware of the mechanics of the change in weather patterns. I've lived in Victoria since 1974. There has always been a cycle of drought and rain, but this current nation-wide drought is extreme indeed. We've had some relief in southern Victoria. It's still below average. The north of the state is still very dry.
My observations are that the Church started into decline in the mid 1970's. I don't think my moving to Melbourne caused this. (j/k).
I doubt that the BOM has records going back 800 years so I'm not sure that they would be an authoritative source of information. I did some digging and the claim is made by Melbourne Uni.

In Sydney we used to get southerly busters when I was growing up and these have almost vanished now. Simply because the low pressure systems are so far south that they no longer reach us.
The middle of winter was very cold and we had heaters and electric blankets. I have not needed an electric blanket or a heater for the last forty years.
