Baten Kaitos will be out in a couple of months.

Have you played Skies of Arcadia (I played in on Dreamcast, but I hear there's a Gamecube version). That's one awesome RPG!
You might also consider Phantasy Star Online (another that I played on Dreamcast and loved), but I think this one is only worth it if you actually plan to play online. It's also not really a "traditional" type RPG, but more like Diablo (except way more fun in my opinion).

I wouldn't even put Crystal Chronicles in the RPG category. It was more of an action game. It reminds me of Diablo II. If you expected an RPG game, then it was crappy. But, I really enjoyed it as an action game. :)

So manny people are saying Tales of Symphonia was excellent. I don't own it, but it sounds great.

ToS is real time combat and you battle with 4 characters at a time. You can give the characters you aren't controlling simple strategies like cast magic all the time or protect another character. You can also switch you control to other characters whenever you want. IMO it's one of the best battle systems out there.

:) Baten Kaitos? Isn't that game's battle system used cards? I've never tried card system( including PSO). Skies of Arcadia eh? I've seen them in stores but the game magazine I read did'nt made a review about it so i'm in hestitation.
To Crispie: no offense, but i think FF:crystal is crappy in any genre, it wastes my money.
JCMLR: I'm surely no getting an XBOX(My parents will grind me :) )

Yeah, I highly recommend Skies of Arcadia! The battle system doesn't live up to ToS or Grandia, but the story is great, and the game is a lot of fun (and it's got an airship battle system).

I have to agree that FF:CC wasn't that great. It had it's moments during multiplayer where we really had to band together to beat a tough boss by developing strategies and timing spell fusions, but otherwise I felt like I suffered through that one.

Paper Mario 2 is likely to be fun; the original was disturbingly fun, and really had no right to be. :) Gladius is more of a tactical fight game than a "real" RPG, but it's a pretty good one. Skies of Arcadia is neat, although it did crash on me once (!). I dunno; I gave up and went back to replaying Shining Force on a Genesis emulator, because I couldn't find anything nearly as cool as that on modern hardware. Way too much action, way too little RPG. :(

Skies of Arcadia ROCKS some serious hardcore like!! especialy on the cube, the version on there is sposed to be like a directors cut, basically meaning improved and tweaked a little. also, any Mario RPG game will be great, they always are!
umm...outside of that......i can't remember any, but i know there was at least one other really good one...just can't remember what it was...
