Roomate having a tough time.....

Hi friends!
My roomate, who is also a really good friend of mine just discovered some really bad news today. She found out that the after-school program site which she directs will be closed down this fall. I've mentioned before in this forum of the ministry that I work with, which ministers to inner-city youth. We both work and serve within this organization. The organization is really strapped for money and have been making some major cut-backs. Unfortunately the after-school program that my friend is a director of is one of the programs being cut. It is so sad because the area in which this particular after-school program is one of the neediest areas in this city and this program has been a vital part of this community for years! It breaks my heart that this particular program won't be there for the kids come fall. My friend is so shocked and upset, I found her this afternoon sobbing in the bathroom. She doesn't feel that it's time for her to return to her hometown, however she doesn't know what she's going to do now. Please keep her in your prayers as this is a really hard time for her. Pray that her faith in God's love and provision will be strong. Also, please pray for our ministry's financial situation. We are in an incredibly tough place right now.

After-school programs are so essential to the Church that I can only imagine that they are truly broke! I have heard that all non-profits are really hurting, and this confirms it.

I will pray that their finances return to normal so they don't have to cut your roomate's program.

Praying for your roommate! I work for the government so I can understand the frustration with wondering where your next funding will come from! Just remind her that God will provide exactly what she needs at exactly the time she needs it!

hey lambslove,
what you heard about non-profit organizations suffering is correct. ever since 9/11, giving has gone down for our organization. our financial resources is soley based on private donations by generous individuals and corporations. please continue to keep us in your prayers.
