Ok so last election cycle I thought Ron Paul was nuts didn't like him at all, but this time around I feel completely different about him. If you look at his recored his is one of the most honest and uncorrupt politicians. I love his views on small government and free trade. One issue though that many people have with him is his position on gay marriage. He says he is not for gay rights but peoples rights, and that marriage should not be regulated by the government. Anyways I am not trying to start a debate I just want to know your thoughts on the guy.

Whether Ron Paul the man is the right person for the White House or not, one key thing about him is the stark contrast his beliefs paint when compared to either ensconced Democrats or Republicans.

Their views of government (specifically their careers in it) have wandered so pro-government [BIG government] and pro-DC that when someone like Paul comes along and paints the truth in such simple terms, it's a shock for most Americans who have never 1) been taught basic [true] American history and the philosophy of the founders, and 2) seen the sort of government the founders intended.

That his views are in such contrast to the norm these days is indicative of just how far we have backslid into the very form of government against which the founders determined to revolt.

Amen to that.

I owe Ron Paul a vote as I promised in 2008 when the stock market went kaput and our economy turned for the very worse. I stand by my promise.

I think you mean you owe Ron Paul! a vote. That's right, the exclam mark is now officially part of his full legal name, you read it here first ;)

I believe I have to pronounce his name properly by calling him RON PAUL!

And since it is election season, I shall resume my Ron Paul catchphrases as I did in 2008.

RON PAUL! Apply directly to the forehead!

We love Ron Paul!!! He's the only one other than his son Rand who isn't as corrupt as the day is long.

He probably won't win, but at least he's interjecting real ideas into the debate and forcing the Republicans to imitate him. Rick Perry is pretending to be cut from the same mold as Ron Paul--course he's not, but that's a subject for another day.......

In a population of insane people, a sane individual will appear to be the outcast. Ron Paul is one of the most honest, rational, sincere and intelligent politicians in our nation, and that is why he is unpopular.

Amen to that!

Rep. Ron Paul says that the last Christians are about to leave Iraq
January 2011

Lie

Paul's campaign Web site declares: "Dr. Paul never votes for legislation unless the proposed measure is expressly authorized by the Constitution."

Lie

The estate tax "especially harms small and family-owned businesses."

"16,500 armed bureaucrats" from the IRS would enforce the mandate that everyone have health insurance.

Lie

I'd say that is corrupt enough to make a Christian think twice about trusting him.

After following your first two links, I found no reason to bother checking on the third. The arguments were so lame that I dont plan on wasting any time knocking them down. If thats the best you got, then you aint got squat.

"Lying", "being mistaken" and "exercising hyperbole" are all different things. Your post falls under "misrepresenting" which itself is pretty close to "lying".

But yes, Ron Paul is not perfect. You show me a perfect candidate and I'll vote for him/her. Why don't we run a factcheck on your preferred candidate, whoever that may be?

There are no candidates that keep The Two Great Commands. Not even the current President does that.

They are ALL liars and unconcerned with anyone that is middle or lower income.

If you believe for one moment that they care about someone from those classes then you have bought their lies.

They don't even know what your life is even like, let alone sympathize with you. They might as well come from another planet.

The point was that Ron Paul is just as corrupt as all the rest. To say one is better than the other when they are all lying scoundrels is being naive.

So you're the kind of person that likes to complain about things and not offer solutions? How useful.

Voting for ceremonial measures is Constitutional--it involves no exercise of "power" by Congress other than, as in the case of holidays, controlling the operations of the federal government itself, which is within its power.

In any case if THAT is your argument against Ron Paul, it falls pretty flat.

Anything else that can be said about the man, or his views, I can respect the man for that.

I find it amazing that we can have a country made up of so many different kinds of people with amazing differences in backgrounds but we produce such a stark and clustered ideological duotone when it comes to political views.

That's close to my own feelings about Ron Paul as well. His supporters are for the most part out to lunch. And Paul deliberately encourages them by appearing on the Alex Jones show on numerous occasions. His statements on foreign policy have been a real negative as well.
