In other words, the "concerned Christian" will be able to find a church to validate his own particular opinions, whatever they may be.

It seems like Calvinists and Catholics have that in common, and that to a degree, I do also, that the truth isn't usually what man would like to think. I think the truth of the Bible offends a lot of people.

Well there you have it. Anabaptism - the one true church.

There is only one true Church and many Anabaptist make up that congregation, and there may even be a few Catholics, but only if they are ignoring the teaching of Rome.

A true Christian is one who believes in Jesus Christ as his/her Lord and Savior and shows fruit of such conversion. (Repentance, praise, worship, prayer, etc...) Faith without works is dead, after all.

Am I safe to assume that we should be following SteveIndy's personal interpretation of Scripture instead?

I believe that Anabaptists, Wesleyans, and some Baptists fit that definition. Also genuinely Christian nondenominational churches too.

Reformation Churches were slow getting on board with the teaching of the Anabaptist, but most of them have come around, e.g. believer baptism and separation of Church and state. The thing that nearly no Protestant Churches can grasp, although though plainly taught by Christ, is non-resistance to evil. Because the Anabaptist laid down their carnal weapons they are despised and hated, called cowards and laughed at for their simplicity of life, yet Scripture, the life of the Lord, the lives of the Apostles, and three hundred years of primitive Christianity is on their side.

Revelation 17 describes the harlot church which is the Roman church and the daughters of the harlot which are the protestant churches who came out of her.

That's why it's better to be a Biblicist rather than anything related to anything else.

Which teachings should good Christian Catholics ignore,
the one about same sex unions?
that abortion is murder?
that we are custodians of the earth and not to be it's destroyers?
Many cults like the JW''s, the SDA's, the Christadalphians and busy themselves with demonizing the Church. You seem to fit in with them.

He means ignoring the doctrines deemed to be unbiblical.

Abortion is murder.
Same sex unions are unbiblical.
We are custodians of the earth.

OK, so you are a Seventh Day Adventist. Ellen Gould White got her "prophecies" by occult channeling.
Seventh-day Adventism | Catholic Answers

Some anti-Catholics claim the Catholic Church is the harlot of Babylon of Revelation 17 and 18. Dave Hunt, in his 1994 book, A Woman Rides the Beast, presents nine arguments to try to prove this. His claims are a useful summary of those commonly used by Fundamentalists, and an examination of them shows why they don’t work.

I agree that the Seventh-Day Adventists are unbiblical. (Not like I agree with the Catholic church but I'll agree with whatever I agree with.)

Well, I can see by your icon that you are not serious about the murder thing so I am supposed to believe the rest? The fruit doesn't fall far from the tree.

I know what he means, his knowledge of Catholicism is from the Christian Taliban or other such "Bible Christian" hate cults.

All Catholic doctrines are found either explicitly or implicitly in Scripture. An unbiblical Catholic doctrine does not exist.
The problem is how "doctrine" is defined.
In general, doctrine is all Church teaching in matters of faith and morals. Dogma is more narrowly defined as that part of doctrine which has been divinely revealed and which the Church has formally defined and declared to be believed as revealed.

Not that I am aware of. If you took it to mean I said your church is a hate cult, I apologize and that is not what I intended. It's really a few radical Protestants that promote lies and falsehoods about the CC.Hate cults are liars who make a religion out of misrepresenting and demonizing the Church (in the name of Jesus) usually out of ignorance, blind prejudice and bigotry. The ego (pride) refuses correction and the same anti-Catholic garbage shows up a week later.
