Robotics?

i'm going to sound like a dork, but has any one had any experience with robots or building remote control cars or anything like that? i was just wondering... please reply

Yeah, years ago back in high school some friends of mine decided to take after me by building small alcohol driven RC cars. We built about 6, ranging from offroad to strictly speed performance. Though, sadly I do not have my cars, one's chasis was bent and caused a fuel tank rupture which burnt some of the electro components and the other I sold. Fun if you have 20 minutes a day to spare and an open desk with a few small tools. Other than that I built rockets and now concern my time to mechanical arm designs, which I hope to build eventually.

I had a friend before I moved about 5 or 6 years ago, or still have, but not seeing if you get my drift, but anyhow, we would take apart remote controlled cars and such, then rebuild them to create our own little inventions. Not very complex, but it was good fun!

tinkering with electronics stuff can be fun

I remember when I was a kid having the toys you could do that kinda stuff with. I think one type was actually called 'Robotix'

Yes, in my second year of high school electronics class.
I also used to set up, program and operate or supervise the operations of 3 axis (+3 programmable) XYZ CNC machines. These are like those big robotic machines you see in GM movies where the huge arms are tooling cars on the line. In fact I used the same machines that GM and Intel use but with slight differences. Sadly, we had over 1000 lay offs at the company I worked for. But yes, robotics is pretty fun.
