Inspired by a chat with Squeakers, I pose the following query for the women of CF. If the love of your life,
that you were absolutely smitten with proposed to you, but offered a Ring Pop instead of a diamond engagement ring, would you still accept?
They say the ring should be a certain percentage of what you make. If my tabulations are correct, a ring pop would be what I am in the market for anyway.
actually the van and debt are part of the ring pop proposal.
This. Except I don't know what she plans on doing...LOL most pics are blocked here.Would I accept the proposal if I wanted to marry him anyway?
Yes.
Would I appreciate being proposed to with a ring pop? No. It's not my thing and I would be a little disappointed that he didn't know that about me.
I don't want a ring with real stones in them, fake is actually preferable to me just because I don't need to stress about losing it but I do want a ring and I would want it at the moment of being engaged because I feel there is something special about that symbol of your commitment to each other.
That is not to say there isn't a place for a ring pop in the process. I plan on doing this:
This. Except I don't know what she plans on doing...LOL most pics are blocked here.
I think it would be cute and whimsical, but I would prefer something substantial that I can wear for as long as we're married.
Oh I've seen that! I love it! I would so be up for doing that too! Although I would have to mail mine as three of the four people I'd pick don't live in the area. Its a box with a ring pop in it and written on the inside is a note that says
"Now its my turn to pop the question...
Will you be my bridesmaid?"
