Revelation 22:11
He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.
Is Holy one step more than just righteous? Is Holy apart from righteousness?
Now someone is going to be asking in their mind how is it possible to be holy and not righteous. When a person is in the Presence of His Holiness, righteousness is given as a clock of covering so that he may be able to stand in His Presence.
Romans 2:13...it is those who obey the Torah who will be declared righteous.
Immediately comes to mind all the arguments regarding the righteousness of the Pharisees who were in their mind obedient to the Torah.. But they were missing the boat. The spiritual obedience to Torah is deeper than just the legal aspect. I do not want this thread to rabbit trail into all the arguments on this. I want to have you focus on Holy and Righteous and their distinctions. As I was saying Righteousness in God's eye is a spiritual depth of living the Torah life. It does the weightier matters and judges righteously for the love of God and neighbor. It is a selfless act.
Holy is not something we can achieve in and of ourselves. It is a gift from God. So when rev 2:11 talks about those who are HOLY .... how can this be? I am leaning towards the sanctuary service message, entering into that closer walk with God, being like Enoch who walked with God.
