Right to Privacy

Is there an inherent right to privacy in America? How far does this privacy extend? Was Lawrence v. Texas on track concerning the right to privacy, or was Bowers v. Hardwick a more accurate ruling? What are the limits to privacy? Should morality take place over privacy?

They both dealt with sexual privacy. Lawrence (2003) overturned Bowers (1986)

In Bowers, the Plantif charged that state anti-sodomy laws were unConstitutional. Bowers ruled such laws were indeed Constitutional, and that there was no inherent right to sexual privacy. In Lawrence, the plantifs once again charged that state (in this case, Texas), anti-sodomy laws were unConstitutional. This time the SC agreed citing that there was a definite right to privacy under substantive due process.

I don't believe the government cares about some things--read the Patriot Act if you want a clue how our privacy can be violated--especially if we don't agree with government.
I don't agree and literally don't care and they can throw me in jail if they want to.

We should have a right to privacy and a right to believe certain things are right or wrong, but in some cases it seems we have no help for privacy being respected.

There is no constitutional right to privacy. It is case law. Evidence of the Constitution as a "living document. <G>
