  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

you've got 10 people.

9 of them are "problem childs." one is a sex addict, one is greedy, one is mean, one is a gossip, one, blah blah... "bad people"... all who have taken Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.

then you have one more, who tells the whole group that they have no chance in heaven, unless they "get their act in gear."

they turn the repentance verse into what THEY feel that repentance is.

why is that?

why do people tell others to "quit sinning so god will accept you"

when God said in the bible all of the time that humans will ALWAYS sin somewhat until they are with Him in heaven.

WHY???

it is the "evil person' who takes Jesus as his lord and savior that makes it into heaven, and it is the "good person" who trusts his works to save him that goes to hell.

correct?

yes, that IS correct!!!!

People do this because it makes them feel better about themselves. And because they like to judge other people, once again, this makes them feel better about their situation because they are not like that other "bad person"

Lastly, this is all summed up in pride. They are not humbled and are not focused on the "log in their eye."

I'm with you on your views. Right on.

9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others: 10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican. 11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican. 12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess. 13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner. 14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

right on prodromos! i was going to post this passage and you beat me to it..

It's called "The Blame Game." Everyone who does wrong deserves to be punished ( except self of course, they are forgiven.)

Greetings,

I keep wondering at comments like these whether we should follow Jesus or Paul or the "do not judge crowd":

Matthew 10:14-15 And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet. 15 Verily I say unto you, It shall be more tolerable for the land of Sodom and Gomorrha in the day of judgment, than for that city.

Matthew 21:12-13 And Jesus went into the temple of God, and cast out all them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves, 13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer; but ye have made it a den of thieves.

John 5:14 Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou art made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee.

John 8:11 She said, No man, Lord. And Jesus said unto her, Neither do I condemn thee: go, and sin no more.

1 Corinthians 5:5-7 To deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit may be saved in the day of the Lord Jesus. 6 Your glorying is not good. Know ye not that a little leaven leaveneth the whole lump? 7 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our passover is sacrificed for us:

1 Timothy 5:19-20 Against an elder receive not an accusation, but before two or three witnesses. 20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear.

Oh, but I guess these verses don't apply to the believers of this day???

Blessings,

Dad Ernie

We are instructed not to judge. However, in our daily life, we continually find ourselves, in the company of people who are doing outrageous things. Some of the worst offenders that I have known are professing to be Christian. I have found, that telling anyone that they need to look at their behavior, usually causes that behavior to get worse, not better. Natureally, I am also aware of my own shortcommings, some at least. I try to keep in mind, that I will be judged according to my works, not someone elses.

These self professing Christians may be backsliding or not really saved at all.. The way to tell if they are really not saved is if they blaspheme God, His Son, or the Holy Spirit or holiness in general.

As Christians, we are to mature in the faith. This means to bring our carnality under subjection as we gain knowledge and practice the word.

Romans 7:14-25 teaches that there is a different 'law' in our bodies that is inflammed when, or after, the word of God is heard. (Rom.7:23) says that it is an actual war that goes on inside us. So we should not be suprised when newer Christians or those who have been a Christian for a long time but weak in the faith due to lack of study and practice, behave most negatively immediately after leaving the Sunday morning assembly.
