Dear brother in Jesus,
It is true, there is not much to do in RI for a youngin. But for a Born Again Christian, a True believer, there is much to do. Look around you. No matter where you are, there are men, women, boys, girls of various ages with paths leading to hell. And not even in a hand basket. Some are going because this is where they have chosen, others, well, its because of people like me and you whom are looking for a better place to dwell. A better place to find BETTER things to do, are not reaching out to them, telling them of where we are going, not because of what we did or who we are, but because of wha HE has done and who HE is.

Chew on this awhile, let me know what you think. If you agree and you are who you say you are, I have a place for Christians, new and old to go and be glad of what HE has done in our lives.

I booked a few arts and craft shows in RI. When I got the resale booklet sent it back and said I would not be doing business in the state. The traps they were setting were obvious. Survived taxing authorities in California which I thought were, next to NYC, the worst in the nation but RI is out to squeeze people until there is nothing left.

Unless they don't mean it. I had no way to telling for sure. But the amount of paperwork they wanted me to fill out to sell for a total of 8 days over two months in the state was breathtaking. And that didn't even include the income tax I suppose you all have. Didn't give them a chance to send me those forms.

I'll go to Pt Judith and eat clam cakes but I'm never doing bidness in RI.

Finding a good church in RI or anywhere else in New England, particularly if you're an evangelical, is very difficult, and in some cases impossible if you rely on public transportation to get around.
Those of us who rely on bus services such as RIPTA
don't ever get to go to the scenic places that motorists take for granted.

Actually, someone from church you want to attend maybe willing to help you get to church. I maybe wrong, but check out your local "Church of The Nazarene". It's pretty much evangelical.

I highly recommend, these are encouraging and prayer letters. They may give you some ideas on sharing Jesus too maybe. www.wayofthemaster.com has some ideas too. God bless

I love Rhode Island.
I feel like I took living in Narragansett for granted growing up.
It wasn't until I moved out to Los Angeles that I really started to appreciate where I came from!

It's Not Really A Guitar Show(they Play A Lot Of Chords And Not Leads). One Of Them (jon) I Saw At The Living Room In Prov. Open Up For Max Creek And I Was Blown Away By His Song Writing And His Voice - He Is A Big Guy. Trust Me - You Will Not Be Let Down.


Start Visiting Different Fellowships. There are Tons Of Them In RI. You Can Pretty Much Go Somewhere New Any Night Of The Week.... Go To Meet People And Fellowship- You Will Be Surprised What God Will Have For You Through His Believers That He Has Planted In Every Type Of Church. You Will Become Fired Up Over How God Will Use You To Fire Up Others For Him.

Thanks. I sold on the RI coast near the CT border and really enjoyed it. Great people, great views of the ocean, happy buyers. Wondered if I made a mistake but the forms they mailed me sent chills down my spine. CA is one thing, the state has millions of people to look at. I figured everyone gets the going over in R.I. That would be OK, I pay my taxes but I don't make a zillion bucks, don't have accountants and simply don't want to take the time for what R.I. seemed to (and from what you say) does want.

I have family in Rhody, so I visit the state many times a year. It is just such a delightful place. I especially love the beaches. When I visit, I just like to go to the beach and pray as His ocean moves about in front of me. RI is very beautiful and a blessed state.

Rhodey is an amazing placing filled with His ...older servants, His slow but mean drivers, His seaside mansions, and His Salve Regina.

I am new to CF and had to post here when I saw this I live in RI, not from here but live here now. I love it I use to not enjoy it, but it was b/c of where we were living. Now I can't imagine living anywhere else. I think the best thing to do here is enjoy the beauty of it. Favorite activity, going for long walks on the beaches and through the neighborhoods looking at the huge houses and mansions. Amazing!

Brother, you sure don't live in the Rhode Island I live in!

It ain't perfect but it's got plenty to do and be and see IF you really want to find it.

Beaches, churches, festivals, water-fire (< all free), the absolutly BEST eats in the east.
We have Dells, coffe syrup and the best weiners.

Last week we had (free) the Tall Ships come and go to Newport. We have a fairly good (not great... but OK) bus system.

How can anyone not like clamcakes and cowder (hey, cut me some slack... I'm an eater!).

So get OUT and FIND the good stuff. Certainly IT won't come to you!
