Ok, this is an idea I had for a near-future RPG. This is the intro I wrote up, and I will start the actual thread if I can get some people to join up.
The year is 2057, in a small country in Eastern Europe that was a colony of the German Protectorate. Rovnia is its name, and just 8 years after declaring its independence from the GP, the Communist Party won the election. The seemingly kind party chairman proved to be an oppressive despot, and his poor leadership threatens to destroy this land's economy. Marshal law is in command of keeping the "peace", and the cruel military is bullying the citizens of Rovnia around without restraint.
However, this cruel military is not very large in the international spectrum, and they are poorly equipped. A man named Gerwulf Drakenstein is trying to lead the people of Rovnia to rebel against the oppressive government and restore freedom to the Rovnian people. He has recieved several grants and donated supplies and munitions from various private parties and special interest groups, but most soldiers will still need to improvise for implements of war. But what he really needs is soldiers, willing to take up arms and fight for a better future. Ready a weapon, leave your belongings, and take back what is yours!
