I'm wondering what could of caused it, While an EMP would of caused some of the effects we see, it wouldn't prevent stuff like flashlights, chemical batteries, simple generators, solar panels, ect from working.

Watched a lot of apocalypse themed series in the last ten years, most didn't make it past the second season. Hope this one is good enough to go the distance.

I'm hoping it makes it too. I'm willing to overlook less-than-perfect aspects of a show if I like the concept, which I do in this case.

Yep watched it. Not bad. It's a bit into the future eh? Like the devices the few of them have that create electricity?

It seems that the writers are trying to mix futuristic ideas, like the power device, with a revert to primitive ideas -- sword fighting and villages having to pay tribute money to keep from getting pillaged by soldiers.

:thumbsup:Yeah, I was wondering why the batteries, or solar panels suddenly stopped working?

What about plain old static electricity?
anyway i think I'll be watching again, I enjoyed the show.

Any thoughts on tonight's episode? To me, it was probably the best so far. Some of the back story started to fill in about the founding of the militia, and the action sequences flowed pretty well, especially the bridge explosion towards the end of the show.

I really like the concept of the show. Reminds me a little of Jericho. But there are some very rough edges that need to be worked out. I'm not sure what to think of the cast yet. Most of the characters seem a bit forced so far. And the story line is pretty bumpy. But overall I'm still hoping it will be a good one. In the most recent episode I'm glad they finally gave Danny some character. That portion of the story could end up being the most interesting of the series, especially if he ends up joining the militia.

And it is always nice to see cast members from LOST on a new Abrams series! (So far Juliette and Jacob, yay!)

What did everyone think of tonight's episode? Pieces of the story are starting to fall in place. It's maybe a little too violent, but I can almost see the justification for it. There was a little bit of comic relief in this episode when the secret signal between to rebels was one asking the other for a copy of Joe Biden's biography.

Grr, my last post went into oblivion. Trying again. While it was nice to see another LOST alum in this episode, I have to say I'm growing tired of the show. I just really don't like most of the characters. And I know some may be offended, but I really find the Charlie character annoying, lol. I will continue watching for a while to see where it goes, but won't be surprised if it is cancelled after season one. The individual episodes just aren't interesting enough to care how things unfold. Maybe that will change as it progresses, and I hope so.

By the standards of what's on the small screen, the show is pretty good and could improve. It really depends on what angle the story line takes. Concentrating more on the technology angle, rather than the action sequences is what I'd prefer...but I'm not a network boss.

I understand that, and definitely like the technical side of stuff. But keep in mind that's exactly what they did with Roswell and that's what killed that show. There's a delicate balance that requires good relationships and solid characters to keep a show moving forward. It's a rare writer that can provide that technical/mystery detail and character depth at the same time.

By the same sort of standards for this season, Arrow and Beauty and the Beast both hold much greater hope of long-term entertainment for sci-fi action/drama so far, IMHO.

I've enjoyed Arrow also. I can't make it home from work in time to watch it on Wednesday's, so I've been watching it online. I'll probably try to watch the second episode tonight. I thought about starting an Arrow thread, but I didn't know how large of a fan base it might have.
