Supposing that one had an evil thought and then asked for forgiveness for it.

Subsequently, if one felt bad for having had the thought and reviewed the thought, and thus reviewed the sin by thinking what the bad thought was - would that be a sin? - after all the evil thought is still in ones mind

So? What are you getting at?

The object of 'watching' one's thought is to be alive to what is actually going ion in the mind - keeping a CCTV going if you like on one's own thinking. If one is aware of one's thoughts as they come and go then one is in a better position to control the process. Believe me - the thoughts do eventually go. What is more the case is that we resurrect them ourselves and then blame the 'thoughts' as if they had a mind of their own.

Am I somewhere near your question?

Hi Rahul, I suppose it depends on what you do with the thought the second time around. If you find yourself playing out the thought in your mind in a sinful way, sure, you'll need to ask for forgiveness and repent of it again.

Yours and His,
David

"Though we walk in the flesh, we do not war according to the flesh, for the weapons of our warfare are not of the flesh, but divinely powerful
for the destruction of fortresses .. destroying speculations and every lofty thing raised up against the knowledge of God,
and we are taking every thought captive to the obedience of Christ"
2 Corinthians 10:3-5
