99.9999% of the christian world would disagree with you on that! So would John, the Author.

So does that make them right? You know John do you? I am a partial preterist. I believe in their view of Revelation.

Suffice for me. I have seen many posters post paragraphs on here with no substance either!

They are all futurist interpretations. Preterism and historicism is explained it a few words. "It already happened!"

Futurist with many twists and turns. All going in different directions. All lost on different paths. All with a few words too, "Its going to happen any time soon!" (Thousands have said that since Christianity began!)

I don't think I will waste my time trying to decipher the book of revelation. For me it would be a waste of time. Maybe not for you though. Sure.

That said, the book of revelation does address some important issues, like letters to the churches which describe different blessings from God one might achieve, etc. Also it describes heaven and the lake of fire. Some of it is plain to read and not vision language. So I just stick with the portions that need no interpretation. But that's me.

Have fun deciphering

Yeah I would get into it, except the part I couldn't get past is that the visions in Revelation and Isaiah, etc are so symbolic that even if they happened one might not recognize it. And that appears to be common in this forum. I have heard some people indicate that some of the vision prophecies have already took place while others think they are yet to come.

I stick with the ideas of Joseph in Egypt in OT then see Genesis 40:8, where God gave him the understanding of the dreams of Pharaoh. And no one could interpret the dreams except God. Which is what I believe is correct for revelation. So sure maybe someone could seek God and God might give them an understanding of the visions, but God might not tell me and then I wouldn't know the difference. I tried to understand Revelation and sought God for an understanding, but I don't think I ever got one.

Anyways, I understand it can be fun Cheers.

Of course you are free to believe what you want. I don't believe that Revelation is in "code."
How much "Partial" are you? What part of Revelation is future in your mind?

Huh?
Try the Jews of Israel/Jerusalem symbolically being nuked back in the 1st century........

EZEKIEL 22 "GATHER HOUSE OF ISRAEL INTO JERUSALEM TO MELT IN FURNACE/GEHENNA"

Lately as I read thru Ezekiel 22, I actually envisioned it as being Jerusalem 70ad.

This almost sounds like what happens when an "atomic bomb" is dropped on a city.
What is this prophecy about if not about 1st century Jerusalem? Discuss...

Ezekiel 22:
1 And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, 2 ‘And thou, son of adam! dost thou judge? dost thou judge the City of blood? then thou hast caused it to know all its abominations,
17 And there is a word of Yahweh unto me, saying, ‘Son of adam!18 The House of Israel hath been to Me for dross, All of them [are] brass, and tin, and iron, and lead, In the midst of a furnace — dross hath silver been,
19 Therefore, thus said Adonay Yahweh: Because of your all becoming dross, Therefore, behold!
I am gathering you unto the midst of Jerusalem,
20 A gathering of silver, and brass, and iron, and lead, and tin, Unto the midst of a furnaceto blow on it fire, to melt it, So do I gather in Mine anger and in My fury, And I have let rest, and have melted you.
21 And I have heaped you up, And blown on you in the fire of My wrath<5678>, And ye have been melted<5413> in its midst.
22 As the melting of silver in the midst of a furnace, So are ye melted in its midst, And ye have known that I, Yahweh, I have poured out My fury<2534> upon you.’

Further, Peter was stated as being in "Babylon", but this was understood by Christian ancient writers, and the Catholic Church, to mean "Rome". It was and remains understood to mean "Rome". This is how they attribute Peter to Rome.

They were demonstrably wrong.

Let's stick to inspired scripture and relegate the uninspired speculators that you are appealing to, to the dustbin of history, shall we?

"By Silvanus, ...I have written you. ...The Church in Babylon ...sends you her greeting, and Mark my son." (I Peter 5:12,13)

(1) Peter was a "pillar" of the Jerusalem Church (Gal. 1:18/2:9; Acts 15:2,7). Thus we know "Babylon" in 1 Pet 5:12-13 is Jerusalem.

(2) Peter was the Apostle of the Circumcision (Gal. 2:7-9). His ministry was primarily to the Israelites. Thus we know "Babylon" in 1 Pet 5:12-13 is Jerusalem.

(3) Silvanus (silas) had a home Church -- that was the Church in Jerusalem (Acts 15:22,27). Thus we know "Babylon" in 1 Pet 5:12-13 is Jerusalem.

(4) Mark's home was also in Jerusalem (Acts 12:12). Thus we know "Babylon" in 1 Pet 5:12-13 is Jerusalem.

Isn't it great when scripture interprets itself?
